I am leaving BT after about 7 years with them. The problem is my email is @btinternet.com and this means I lose it or have to pay £7.50 per month!! This is ridiculous, surely by now you should be able to move email addresses between providers |  |

The email address is hosted on a BT server platform, why should BT provide email services to users who are not paying for any services? Harsh I know but when you take it back basics would it be fair to ask a company to provide and maintain hardware and software to users who are not contributing to the cost? |  | | |

Bit like a phone but the number can be transferred. I can't believe that email addresses can't be transferred to the new provider on a joint agreement | |

I moved jobs 3.5 years ago and until then only used my work email. I thought I had learned my lesson by using my bt one and never using my work one for anything. Turns out I didn't learn well.
