Donacien to fleetwood on 12:51 - Jan 22 by PhilTWTD | Clearly the management don't rate him. Even if he stayed I'd expect Woolfy to be next in line to play at right-back if Chambo got injured and KVY wasn't back, maybe even Skusey if he was fit. |
Is the 50k fee looking likely, what is the word on the street about the fee he's likely to generate.

Going to be a loan. Not really sure why they turned a fee down to go on loan, unless they hope he pulls up trees and is worth more in the summer, which seems unlikely given the level he is likely to go to and the finances at clubs at present. Or the signing on fees etc relating to his exit are higher than the fee.

I have no idea why we're not just getting rid of him? 6 months at Fleetwood is not going to recoup back what we paid for him, so why not just sell to the highest bidder now. What a shambles that summer was by the way, £1.5m for him and Nsiala. Criminal.

Would have been nice to have seen him playing regularly at this level. Seems plenty of other clubs think he's up to it.

Donacien to fleetwood on 13:35 - Jan 22 by Bluefish | Did you consider it to be Pirlo's? |
So he is our Pirlo then? Pirlo was a deep lying holding midfielder who was superb at retaining possession. The way we give away the ball cheaply in midfield means that we need a proper defensive midfielder a la Skuse. I contend that we are not setup to maximise Dozzell's talents. This brings me back to the OP. We seem to be continuously making the wrong decisions on what position on the team we acquire players for, how to maximise their strengths and what formations to use to make them effective. Donacien would have been a perfectly adequate division 3 full back allowing a perfectly adequate CB play in his proper position. Paul had some issue with him so that didn't happen. We are falling over with midfielders so we bring in more. We play one up front so we don't need that may forwards but we rush back the injured one who breaks down. Anyway what do I know about Technical Football and I never played in Germany, so I am obviously wide of the mark.

If we want to play Andre then we should build a team around him. Having 3 free position in front of him CAM and 2 wide forwards makes absolutely no sense. He should have to strong CMs in front.

Donacien to fleetwood on 14:39 - Jan 22 with 1396 views | J2BLUE | I'm glad he's going for his sake. Decent defensively IMO and deserves to be playing. Lambert clearly doesn't want him so we might as well free up the wages.

Donacien to fleetwood on 14:57 - Jan 22 with 1376 views | jayessess | Stuart Taylor: “It’s a decision we’re having to make. We’ve got Kane Vincent-Young coming back. Hopefully he’s not going to be too far away and goes from strength to strength. We’ve also got Chambo, who’s shown he’s very robust over his career. We do need cover there, but, because of the rules, this is the situation we find ourselves in.” So, plan A is that KVY after 15 months out will be straight up to speed and playing at League One level and plan B is that our "robust" 35-year-old centre half plays right back in 26 games in 106 days? Excellent forward planning as ever.

Donacien to fleetwood on 12:18 - Jan 22 by Bluefish | Lambert black listed him within minutes of arriving, Harrison then slightly after The whole nonsense about JD being a centre half and the a. Right back and not being used as either when short and then the business about Harrison being injured and then suddenly playing when we were desperate and then apparently injured again despite being fit. These were huge warning signs |
Harrison was viewed as disruptive, from what I remember, his move was down to that.

Donacien to fleetwood on 15:04 - Jan 22 with 1361 views | jayessess | Also, from the EADT: "Plymouth had a permanent offer turned down last week, amounting to around £50,000, but the Blues have always preferred a loan deal and have agreed for the 27-year-old to join Fleetwood. Donacien, a £750,000 signing made by Paul Hurst, is into the final six months of an Ipswich contract which includes a club option to extend for a further year. That’s an option the Blues are likely to take up." Weird that we'd be planning to trigger his extension when he's surplus to requirements?

Evans desperate to recoup his £750k, rather like a gambler in the Monte Carlo casino who is £740 down and has two £5 chips left. So he puts them on number 12.

I see no benefit in extending the contract of someone who has no future at the club, not unless there is a permanent offer on the table. Cut your ties, take your medicine and look at right back alternatives who have a future here in the summer.

Seems an unlikely scenario when we'll have only 20 places in the senior squad and several of the younger players who will count as senior players next season.

Seemed to rate him at Villa, put him on the bench in the Premier League but never given a chance here other than in dire circumstances or the Papa John's Trophy, which are essentially the same thing. |

You're wasting your time. Chambers is the hero in front of his and others' eyes because of swearing in front of the Sky cameras and making the fist pumps. He cannot even organise the defence against the lowly Swindon at Portman Road. Fooking skipper. The worst skipper ever in the history of ITFC. If Nsiala had played against Swindon then he would have been peoples scapegoat. But Luke, poor looked looked 'distraught' in the post match interview so him and another poor Luke so are both fine aren't they? [Post edited 23 Jan 2021 3:23]

I'm really rooting for Donacien - I hope he absolutely storms it at Fleetwood. Yes, he was well overpriced in terms of what we paid but he's a decent player, certainly a good enough RB starter for the third tier. [Post edited 23 Jan 2021 9:11]
