The classic was non alcoholic Doombar. Now I like Doombar and the label looked good. Mmm he said as he took a swig. Aaargh I said when I took a swig. It was like somebody had wrung out a cloth after cleaning out the effluent tank. Ghastly.

I have been drinking gin all my adult life, for me it is the go to tipple as a short.
I got extremely annoyed when gin became a "Thing" and suddenly I was looked upon as some kind of tart.
What took the biscuit was when I was with my good friends at the Arcade Tavern and they introduced me to rhubarb gin but insisted I drank it with ginger ale (which I hate) and then went on to try and sell me Tanqueray gin - but only if I had Fever Tree tonic with it.
Bunch of arse!
Give me a Gordons or Bombay with a Schweppes.
As for non alcoholic gin, WTF?

Before pubs went extinct last year I had someone buy me a Rhubarb gin at the village pub. It was like refreshers as a taste. It wasn't horrific, but certainly wasn't gin to me either. Very very strange flavour. |  |
