zero-alcohol gin - a substance with apparently no redeeming features whatsoever.

My mate who has become paranoid about his health before lockdown kept pressing me to try non alcoholic beers. ‘It’s just the same as the real thing’ he chimed. No it isn’t. The classic was non alcoholic Doombar. Now I like Doombar and the label looked good. Mmm he said as he took a swig. Aaargh I said when I took a swig. It was like somebody had wrung out a cloth after cleaning out the effluent tank. Ghastly.

They all are. The best of them is still probably Becks Blue, but why bother? If you are going non alcoholic, for me a lime and soda is as good as anything

There are loads of good non alcoholic beers. Becks blue is not one of them.

I was offered a job to go to a couple of supermarkets & buy 10 bottles of this gin in each store. They stated I would be fully reimbursed for the purchases & would get to keep them so was really interested until I read the brief that it was non-alcoholic gin.

I have been drinking gin all my adult life, for me it is the go to tipple as a short.

I got extremely annoyed when gin became a "Thing" and suddenly I was looked upon as some kind of tart.

What took the biscuit was when I was with my good friends at the Arcade Tavern and they introduced me to rhubarb gin but insisted I drank it with ginger ale (which I hate) and then went on to try and sell me Tanqueray gin - but only if I had Fever Tree tonic with it.

Bunch of arse!

Give me a Gordons or Bombay with a Schweppes.

As for non alcoholic gin, WTF?

Rather have a lime and soda - or a nice cup of tea.

Before pubs went extinct last year I had someone buy me a Rhubarb gin at the village pub. It was like refreshers as a taste. It wasn't horrific, but certainly wasn't gin to me either. Very very strange flavour.

There is always an alcoholic fad drink that masks the taste of alcohol.

Hooch, archers and lemonade, trendy ciders, fancy gins.

I know that was then, but it could be again..
