(I believe something like a third of US debt is owed to China)

No war ...yet
Diversionary tactic as big rally tomorrow here in India.
PM and puppet President don’t want their big day spoilt
says Mrs.Brown Nose (excuse naughty term of endearment for the Indian wife)

Xi is nasty and our PM belligerent
However it’s not war season.
Even those naughty Pakistani infiltrators get chilblains.
As for the Han: well they are not used to the cold weather, their equipment is poor and they are not battle hardened.
Come April and the Himalayan thaw then may well be another attempt.

Now to the flag waving bit:
100,000 tractors are descending on the capital Delhi tomorrow for a rally;
It’s a farmers protest against Government arrogance.

And to continue the ITFC theme:
Here’s a fun fact:
houses painted blue pay less rates in Kolkata
(As local party’s colour is blue)

"As for the Han: well they are not used to the cold weather, their equipment is poor and they are not battle hardened."

I think that's a pretty old fashioned way to look at the Chinese military.

Let's hope it doesn't happen, it would be awful for everyone.

Yes, of course, on paper the Chinese should easily crush the Indians.
They aren’t ravaged by Covid, they are well funded and have lots of cunning plans.
Also local infrastructure is much better.

A few months back they sneak attacked India at Galwan, with height advantage for a battle with their home made sticks as weapons. (Guns not allowed!)
They also had a numerical advantage but were surprised at the ferocity
of the Indian defence.
The point is this, India has been fighting Pakistan for years
and its troops are battle hardened.
The Chinese haven’t had any hot wars.

Also of course, the Chinese should have the best equipment but
Its mainly made in China and not stress tested at 4,000metre altitude.
Times change, India has been importing some American cold weather equipment.

Well, let us hope that we don’t have to put this to the test.

Stop Press: 600,00 tractors on the way to tomorrows rally.
Government doing it's best to prevent them but many will get through.

Also hundreds of camels and other beasts
Gonna be one helluva show.

Even in the UK this will be big news. You heard it here first

600,000. That's a lot of tractor boys.

From my limited/non-existent knowledge on this, what on earth are the Chinese doing in sikkim? What is the claim there? Strategically it's a potential spot to cause a nuisance, but unless they are particularly looking to cause one, then what's the point?

(Although, yes, what on earth are they doing in Tibet etc?)

It's land they claimed in the 1962 war which was the culmination of border skirmishes after Indian granted asylum to the Dalai Lama.

Hence they are still there from back then.

The very different faces of China.

A country that sold itself wanting to trade with the modern world whilst still harbouring so many backward thinking policies.

Maybe they are too big to knock back with sanctions and maybe not cost-effective for the West either.

I have no idea without looking it up what size of goods and services goes in their direction.

Sikkim: well now I seem to remember the Chinese doing the deal of the century.
India said China could have all of Tibet, but could they please have little Sikkim.

Last year(or the year before?) the Chinese saw an opportunity to get closer to Bhutan and at the triple junction of all the countries the Chinese tried to move in.
The Indians said, 'No Way' and a stand-off ensued.
The Chinese were insulted that India should object.

Basically the Chinese are just testing defences and will move forward when they are ready.

600,000 Tractors are advancing on Delhi for tomorrow's parade 26 Jan Republic Day.
with hundreds of camels and assorted beasts joining in ...will be quite a sh*t-show

Maybe when they're done with the demonstration they could drive up to Sikkim.

I would love to see China isolated. They’ve caused coronavirus, their ‘uman rights record is appalling, their reneging on the Hong Kong deal is awful, their stealing of territory and threatening their neighbours is awful. Also awful is their support of North Korea along with the dumping they do around the world. I’d love to see them isolated, trade wise, but it would have to be all countries and there will be no agreement on that.

Same with Russia. Dreadful country with an animal in charge. But they’re easier as their economy is relatively small. Smaller than the UKs. I’d definitely economically starve them into change. But again, the EU is dependent on them, as are others so it won’t happen.
