Remember that Derby game very well, young Pendejo and future wanna be ICF step-brother were taken autograph hunting afterwards. Think I may have Cooper's autograph on that match programme.

Obviously it would have been interesting if Jennings had come here. He is the keeper I would put right up there with Gordon Banks during my (rather long) lifetime.
I well recall the speculation regarding Pat Jennings joining as well as rumours of Robson trying to get Peter Shilton. The question remains as to how much either of those great keepers would have improved us. Undoubtedly they would to a certain extent, but I'm not sure I can clearly recall one incident where a Cooper mistake cost us a game.
Definitely the unsung hero of that era.
And always one of the first at the bar in the Black Adder.
