Todays Covid figures..... 16:37 - Feb 5 with 1283 viewsBloots

....continue to show a really positive trend downwards:

Positive tests down 34% from last Friday
Deaths with Covid down 19%

Plus another 500,000 got their first vaccine in the last 24 hours, 11.5 million in total now.

Positive news to end another dull week.

Chins up all you lot.

Agreed. I'm quite optimistic as long as we don't get some new mutation.

Nice to see the numbers going down.

And everyone over 50 or with a clinical condition will be vaccinated by May, so I look forward to seeing you all at Wembley for our play-off triumph.

It's all looking promising at the moment although still over 1000 deaths today. I think that highlights why we need to get the baseline cases down quite a bit further before opening up or we could be back to full wards a few weeks after opening.

The vaccine rollout is progressing very nicely.

I expect the numbers for vaccinations will drop next week unfortunately due to the awful weather heading this way which is a shame.

...I hadn't considered that.

Hopefully the vast majority of those that would have struggled have been done now, but yeah it could be an issue.

Yeah, really good. At this rate we'll be vaccinating our way to normality by Easter.

That will primarily be due to the lockdown, but hopefully the vaccination programme will keep it that way when restrictions are lifted.

I've been noticing the reduced number of positive tests for a few weeks and keeping cautiously optimistic. Obviously takes a few weeks more for that to feed into the hospital and death numbers, and need to work to keep the cases low, but I'm optimistic for a vaguely normal Summer.

Had enough of this Covid nonsense tbh so keen for us to get it cracked.

I swear, it's doing to some twisted things to me. I was over the moon yesterday because I had a Something Dreadful Needing Transfer To A Specialised Centre to deal with yesterday because it wasn't yet another slight chunky but otherwise fit in his mid 40's to mid 60's bloke who's oxygen requirements were rocketing.

I turn 50 in May and am wondering if I will then become a priority for a vaccine or if it will be based on my age when the vaccination process started meaning I'll have to take pot luck with the young 'uns. It's a question I've not found the answer to.

....Richard Wright a couple of free bottles of Champers in his club purely because I told him Wrighty was a "future England goalie".

He threw in a couple of girls too.

Wrighty was very uncomfortable, and Jonathan Barnett wasn't happy at all.

True story.
