I didn't come on here yesterday to gauge the feeling. guessing some would have said it was a bad move and the team was too young/lacking a "leader"

It's not about someone holding Woolf's hand, it's about picking a good, balanced side. The two inexperienced CBs have been a problem a number of times this season, especially against better sides. I don't really think McGuiness is particularly better than Woolf even with the latter not being at his best this season. So for me it's Woolf and Chambers in the middle. Good blend of youth and experience to give us a bit more solidity and hopefully avoid some of the naive defending we've been prone to when pairing two rookies together. McGuiness can cover for Woolf when he needs a rest.

the fact chambers has many mistakes in him, for me, means i'd rather see the 2 youngsters in there together, even if they too themselves have mistakes in their game. LC has a part to play this season, but id take the young lads for now

up to this point he's been the best (fit) RB at the club this season, which speaks volumes of the others, but with the young lad coming in he simply doesn't have a place in that position whilst hes here, and fit.

CB, yes maybe we will need to call on him in certain games, and situations. do I really think hes been such a massively great CB that his experience and knowledge is hugely key to our team, not really.

A couple of freak games aside I thought the defence generally looked more solid last season than it has this season, with Chambers and Woolf virtually ever present in the middle. Chambers is a CB, playing him right back this season has been ridiculous even though he started the season pretty well there. He's a perfectly decent CB at this level and we've shown time and again that we need some experience in the middle at the back. Can't believe that after one win over a bang average Blackpool team people want to persist with an inexperienced CB pairing that has been shown up an awful lot this season.

i don't really think 1 win has really done that, bit of an over reaction suggesting it has.

i personally cant believe that there are calls for his inclusion when he's had multiple mistakes, not really been this huge inspirational leader, and been part of a consistently failing team.

all a bit sentimental. yes, he will come in handy in some games/situations, don't disgree

but that's just my opinion.

Yeah but Chambers is always going to suffer in your eyes for his association with Mick if we're being honest. Chambers hasn't made the kind of massive game changing errors that the likes of McGuiness and Nsiala have this season. He should be given a run alongside Woolf in his actual position.

are you a bit wet? yes, in the end I wasn't a fan of the manager 3 managers ago, but Im not completely blind to the good he done, and chambers in the past.

I believe I have said this to you 2/3 times previously, but you've decided to ignore that. that's cool tho, wouldn't expect anything else from you, if we are in the process of being honest with one another.

Why are people moaning about our CB pairing when we’ve just won a match, and by all accounts, with a display that’s been the beat we’ve produced in a long time?

LC being dropped obviously didn’t have a negative affect, quite the opposite. Team was mobile and showed good energy. Let’s enjoy that, even if it is only until Tuesday.

Mad that a 2-0 win at home to a midtable third division side is enough to make some people forget all the issues at the club.

If only Lambert was able to buy some cheap beer at this point, there's a few here who'd be calling for five more years on his contract.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

My two pence worth would suggest LC is far from PotS (not sure who would be to be fair anyway ) but I do think we’d look more solid with him at CB perhaps with McG fir me cause Woolfy isn’t the player I thought he’d be this year

Arguably I agree he’s our own and perhaps should be ahead of McG but for me McG has been ever so slightly better

Certainly didn’t miss LC at RB though

Oh rest assured, things are horrific at the club, PL needs to go ASAP, but the CB thing is a separate convo.

Us beating a Blackpool side missing their main attacking threat doesn't suddenly mean the CB pairing is working though. We've got another ten games or so of evidence to suggest that actually they aren't all that great together and their lack of experience leaves us exposed, especially against better sides with competent League 1 forwards.

It's all about opinions. And my opinion is that Chambers hasn't been the same player since the relegation season.

He was poor during the relegation season and seemed to have lost a yard of pace.

Last season he was error prone from the off (Sunderland in the second game) and had a mistake in him during most games. We were usually punished with a goal due to those mistakes.

Like Ward, he got off to a flyer earlier this season but his form has dropped massively and the unforced errors returned. He was also getting drawn out of position time and again.

He's been a great servant to the club but his time has passed.

Don’t be daft and if Tuesday’s game is on I bet he plays. Squad rotation, here we come.
