Regulation win tomorrow night... on 10:45 - Feb 15 by Dubtractor | I think this is why everyone was so peeved about Saturday's cancellation. I think we all hoped that the likely/possible loss (given Shrewsbury's form) could have been the final nail in the coffin. Whereas now we'll win the 'easy' game against Northampton and he gets a stay of execution. |
....for this club, does go wrong. I'm at the stage now where I don't just expect us to lose a match (specifically against half decent opposition) but I expect us to lose and there be a manky cherry on top of it. A sending off, another injury, an OG, a plague of rats, a dog running on the pitch and dumping on Norwoods head, a freak tidal wave.....who knows? Someone needs to do one of those rituals where you dispel all of the bad luck from the club. Don't you have to pee in each corner of the ground or something? Or sacrifice a live toad to the gods? Balls. Lambert out.

Regulation win tomorrow night... on 11:18 - Feb 15 by C_HealyIsAPleasure | Even on our current form we’ve gained 10 points from the last 8 games So yes, promotion is more likely although I completely agree neither is remotely likely to happen (unless we make the obvious change) |
What number of points per game would we need for promotion? What is there about the way we are playing that would suggest either the upward or downward change? I would suggest arguments for improvement: Players who have returned from injury should get better and the addition of Parrott and Matheson should improve us. Arguments that our form could get significantly worse than current: 8 of our next 10 opponents are clubs that are above or very close to us in the table which we have generally struggled against. We lost to Swindon recently so to lose to Northampton and Gillingham is not completely implausible. Once on a losing run a team can often struggle and the pressure of an unexpected relegation battle can be detrimental. Parrott, whilst clearly skilful, has never scored a league goal at any level and, if we can't get Norwood, Edwards and/or Jackson scoring again where are the goals going to come from? Of course we should not be in a relegation battle but it as plausible to me as the idea that we can still get promoted. And this is why we must change manager now. We are on completely the wrong trajectory.

Regulation win tomorrow night... on 12:11 - Feb 15 with 422 views | TractorJack | Remember even if we do bring a new manager soon, their time on the training ground is going to be very limited with this tight schedule of games. It won't be easy to come in and have an immediate impact from a tactical point of view.

Regulation win tomorrow night... on 10:58 - Feb 15 by Nthsuffolkblue | Do you see there being more chance of us getting promoted than the chances of that happening? I agree it is unlikely we would get that bad. But it is equally unlikely that we will get promoted. Neither is going to happen. |
Yes, because there is relaistically zero chance of getting so few points, and a non-zero chance of putting a good run together

We aren’t far from from the playoffs and would need to improve our form by a lot less to be in the mix for promotion than it would need to drop off to relegated. To put that in context, even if we got zero points from the next 10 games we would likely still be clear of the drop zone We have also previously had the type of form that would be required to get back in the playoff places - whereas as bad as it’s been at times it has never been anywhere near bad enough that we’ve got less than the 10-15 points that are needed from the remaining games to stay up Given the trajectory we’re on and incompetence of management the chances of promotion are minimal (again unless the latter changes), but still a damn sight more chance than there is of getting relegated
