Currently unemployed, not the worst manager in the world, and would surely whip people in to shape. Surprised he’s not been mentioned, although he’s a bit of long ball specialist what would people think to him?

2nd worst after Lambert.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

In terms of approach he'd make Mick look like Joe Royle. At what point does promotion become all that matters, though?

Tbf I’d say at this point promotion is all that matters, the longer we stay here the worse it’ll be. I think it’s going to be hard to find a balance between someone who’ll get us up this season and someone who’ll build for the long term

Absolutely not. We need to stop chasing the quick fix.

He gives no guarantee of promotion.

No thanks.

Having looked again at his Wednesday record of 7 points from 30 and the worst start for a manager in their history, perhaps it’s not as good a shout as I first thought

Why? There are far better candidates out there. Not the worst manager in the world isn't exactly an endorsement is it?

Truly impaired.

Just plain old No.

Even if I could stomach his playing style which I can’t (it’s John Beck, Wimbledon 1980s), he’s had his day. Another old retread looking for a pension top up is not what we need

Terrible dull football, but he used to guarantee success, however his last 2 jobs at Boro and Sheff Wed have been abject failures, so now the only guarantee is the diabolical football

We also went there with Ramsey, Robson and Burley. Remind me of how those ended?

Of the old has beens, Scott Duncan, McGarry, Royle and Lyall were all good.

I believe it’s about the type of person you employ. There is always risk attached if you employ anyone in anything and more so if they are an unknown quantity. Pulls - you know what you are getting. An old hoof ball merchant who’s been kicked out of recent jobs. No thanks. Id rather employ Ian Holloway and that too is a no thanks when it comes to it.

I’d like somebody like Mark Venus or even Kieron given a chance. I think the club needs somebody that has a feel for what it could be, the area, everything about it. They have to be able to rebuild a football club. But whoever it is without will and support from the top, they have no chance.

One of the few I would hate us to appoint. If we go back down that route then it makes letting McCarthy leave a ridiculous decision.

For me, it has to be Paul Cook or Danny Cowley.

I don't think Danny Cowley's football has a great reputation but he knows how to motivate players and galvanise a flailing club. Plus he seems like a good guy who we could all get behind without the fractious personality which we're now used to with Keane, McCarthy and Lambert.

Please God no.

I keep telling myself it can't get any worse than this, you've just made me see that actually it could.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
