Lambert: I'm Seeing Marcus Face-to-Face Next Week 19th Feb 2021 10:14

Sadly, I doubt that very much. Evans doesn’t sack his managers face to face does he.

We can hope, but I'd have thought if things were that urgent, they would have met sooner. i.e. the day after it happened.

If the decision has already been made to sack him, wasting yet another game on Saturday, when the writing was already on the wall for this season 13 games ago, is absolutely criminal.

Exactly, Dyer, Butcher and Klug would get us more organised and united in one training session today, than Lambert has in 2 and a half years.

Seems inevitable and is most definitely why PL has suddenly changed his stance.

He knows ME is looking at replacements.

PL had a miraculous recovery this week with the number of media interviews he has done compared to previous weeks.

Are you aware though, that Lameberk has managed and played at the absolute top top level? No problem at all.

and like, if he wins, is the decision still "already made" or does every win buy him three more game to waste?

He sorta did with Mick. Well they had a conversation that according to Mick didn't go anywhere and he wasn't renewed but left in charge of the team. He then spent months fannying about before appointing a non-league manager to relegate us!

Firstly, I like many am refreshing these pages too many times a day hoping for the news PL is gone

But here’s my worry. If ME is close to selling (I am NOT claiming def info), why would he burden himself with paying off PL? He might just sell and leave that for a new owner. Thus, if any prospective sale was close, he could remain for at least a few more weeks.

Sorry , just a theory.

That is a plausible theory, and one that does make sense given he hasn't been sacked yet.

I personally just think Evans is reverting to type and speaking to people behind the scenes in preparation for the sacking of Lambert next week.

I'm not overly concerned if we beat Oxford tomorrow that it will mean a stay of execution, he sacked Jim after a Norwich win.

Think the wheels are in motion.

That's not to say he isn't exploring the sale of the club.

As I said, it was just a theory and I hope I am wrong.

As you say, a win against Oxford, albeit unlikely, doesn’t change anything.

Life is fairly monotonous all round at the moment, it would be great to be able to look forward to 3pm on a Saturday. I really can’t be bothered atm

I have a stupid question then.

Would Lambert be contracted to the club specifically or to Evans as his boss? Who is the actual employer and in the scenario you describe would PL's contract be affected?

If someone wanted to buy the club, having Lambert as baggage doesn't make it more attractive let's face it.

I repeat, it’s just something that occurred to me.

To answer your question, I would assume PL is employed by the club. However, given ME’s shady dealings, who knows.

I agree, having PL in situ would not make it appealing. But this is turning into a potential Netflix drama

No I realise you were hypothetical.

Like you I am exploring hypothetical situations in my mind trying to cheer myself up with some hope.

I will cancel my Netflix though just in case it makes it onto there.
