A couple from me
Good stuff NSO
How are you by the way? I will never forget you getting me out of that Mexican pickle and if there is ever anything I can do in return for you I am at your humble service.
In the meantime how about a bit of Wilko Johnson?

Hey Debs, hope you are coping.
I was never much of a Duran Duran fan but I liked this one which always reminds me of a crazy party up Chantry and a bird with difficult teeth.
Do you remember that band who used to play almost every night in any pub in Ipswich - Mod Cons. They were heavily laden with Duran songs.
Quite impressively Duran Duran played at Joe Joey Juniors work Christmas party.

Trying to cope as best as I can thanks, but finding it really hard most of the time. Music is helping, and playing a lot of stuff and Mixcloud shows every day.
How are you doing?
I loved Duran;s first 3 albums to bits . I do not remember Mod Cons - I assumed they were a mod band (which I love a lot of). Never used to really go and see local bands in my younger days, and wish I had!

I'm alright thanks. Quite enjoyed lockdown 1 but lockdown 3 is getting on my tits a bit.
No, Mod Cons were just a local band and nothing to do with Mod culture. They played everywhere - From Dukes to The Railway to The Harlequin.
I mentioned them on here before and I can't believe people don't remember this band. If you were out and about in town of an evening you would find them playing somewhere.
I think they also had some sort of connection with The Gordon Bennet Band - another Ipswich stalwart band.

Hi Lucan, hope you and yours are well.
Can't beat this ... Wonderful tune and lyrics. I defy any of us oldies to listen without singing out loud at the top of our voices.
If we're going to be belting stuff out then
I'm sure I remember a band called Mod Cons playing some pubs in Chelmsford? The Orange Tree maybe?
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Possibly, I don't know hoe far they spread. The singer was a bit chubby, he lived next door from one to me once.
I saw Heaven 17 a couple of years back, they were supporting the usually brilliant but on the day not very brilliant Squeeze.
They blew Squeeze away IMHO
Unfortunately they didn't play my favourite.
Not seen Squeeze for a few years, last time was at the Indigo (02) which was good but not what I expected as half the set was accoustic and played on ukeleles.
Ought to play my own favourite then
If you like Squeeze and don't have this/ have heard it, then it's a different take that I absolutely love.

They were better than Squeeze on the night - I wish Heaven 17 had been on for longer. Sunset Now is fab,but think Play To Win is my favourite of theirs.

I saw Difford at Hyde Park as one of several acts supporting Roger Waters in what turned out to be a most fantastic day.
I think we had just seen The Chilli Peppers at Portman Rd with the Mrs, kids and scum in law, we were having a post concert beer in some pub and I remembered Roger was out and about so on a whim we all decided to head to Hyde Park the next day.
It was the day that Ronney got sent off foer England against Portugal as they had a big screen there. It was baking hot and Roger was brilliant.
All in all a fantastic day.
Pulling Mussles is also my favourite so I'll go with number 2.
When my friend had The County of Suffolk we used to spend days in there listening to Squeeze at all hours.
Marvellous times, now it's all turned a bit sh1tty.
Edit; Best time I saw Squeeze was at Kentish Town - or was in The Roundhouse???. They were at their non pretentious pub band best.
