I'd say of it's enough to end his career, that's life changing...
I always think the phrase means physical disability. However, I take your point. Although, I think the repeated back surgeries were possibly already putting paid to the professional career.
As a lifelong golf hater, I'd just like to say 'really? Now?'
An interesting story I have heard is that his bunker shots were especially poor and when someone asked him if he was working on them his response was that he was working to improve those parts of his game he was already better at in order to avoid needing them.
The man has achieved remarkable things. Not least coming back from his injuries to win in 2019.
Car totalled covers it. It’s amazing though how crash protection on cars has improved. It’s not long ago a crash as bad as that would have meant the morgue for a driver.
As for Woods, whilst he maybe slightly short of Nicklaus’ total, I think he is the best golfer the game has ever seen.
His driving has always been the weakest part of his game...
Lol I’m going to use that and pass it off as my own, I hope you don’t mind
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Looks like he was driving at high speeds to achieve such a roll over and leave the road and end up so far away
Certainly looks that way but it will be interesting what the official investigation comes up with. Already stated tests for under the influence show he was not and that it was a hire car. If it is an unfamiliar car, there are multiple possible explanations for excess speed that are not deliberate. It is possible he had some sort of back spasm due to his problems there too.
As has been stated above, the wreck is a testament to modern safety features. The cage is very much in tact and the front and rear crumple zones have fully enacted. Looks like it must have rolled head over heels. Must have been pretty scary to be inside, assuming he was fully conscious.
No not at all, go for it. It seems that many have had a sense of humour bypass judging by the multiple downvotes...Lucan you’re a good man :) In no way am I mocking Woods and wish him a full recovery, it’s just a light-hearted joke for an awful situation.
Oh well, glad some of you raised a smile.
Promising to hear Tiger is awake and responsive.
Edit: Sorry that should have been in response to Chico

I always thought that driving was the strongest part of his game....not that I follow golf.
"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

According to the only reliable news outlet on the internet, Woods has 'open fractures affecting the tibia and fibula bones in his lower right leg stabilised by inserting a rod into the tibia.'.
Injuries to his foot and ankle have been stabilised with screws and pins.
Anish Mahajan, chief medical officer of the Harbor UCLA Medical Centre where Woods is being treated, said the open fractures were comminuted, meaning broken in more than two pieces.
So his leg is shattered, if I've understood that correctly.

His injuries are awful. I made my post before you made yours.

i didn't mean to reply to you GB sorry.
Yes doesn't sound like good news for his leg, poor guy. I guess he has to look at positives, he's lucky to be alive full stop. Sad that it will almost certainly end his career now but what a career he had. Many pro sportsmen and women get stopped by injury before their peak or even before their career gets started.
Just hope that any outcome from this doesn't set him back with regards to the personal demons that have impacted him and he looked to be conquering.
