I think your profile picture is the right one :)
I am intrigued by the alleged involvement of Steve Lansdown the current owner of Bristol City. Have they changed the rule that no one could effectively own two league cups. Lansdown has recently become resident in Guernsey, and is making a very large investment in completely renovating a Golf Course and hotel resort. He is attracting a lot of favorable publicity in the way he is going about it.

The fees and plans being touted all sound very peculiar to me.
In general I *can* see some appeal to buying Town as an investment. The club is currently operating below even what it makes in revenue - so, even without chipping in additional money, just by running it better you should be able to get it out of League One relatively easily. But £30-40m is probably still all that it's worth when that happens. I would've thought the only incentive to buy it now, whilst in L1, is that you'd get it for a knock-down price that doesn't reflect its actual worth if run competently?
Then the next stage of the plan is to chuck enough money at it to get promoted to the Premier League. A huge long-shot, that would require massive additional financial support, even if you dramatically improve Championship revenues (not impossible, other clubs with similar fanbases make way more money than Town did last time we were at that level).
Then in the Premier League the club is worth, what... £100-150m? Most of your profit is going to be eaten up by getting there!

It isn't the owner Landsdown, it's the current CEO, Ashton.
