You never retire the classics.

Paul Lambert is very good at interviews and buying beer and not very good at football management.

Seems odd to pull that one out when it's all going so well.

Maybe their fan base is less precious than ours?

It’s nothing to do with fans.

It’s an understandable (if somewhat overused) riposte to journalists who hide behind “some people might say” type questions rather than talking straight.

It's a retrospective article, he hasn't said it recently I don't think?

Not quite the same. He used the term ‘foxtrot oscar’ here.

It is a far too blunt response that the haters will always latch on to. The trait he is most hated for is being a blunt Yorkshire and he isn't going to change.

I suspect there aren't many Cardiff fans who are anything less than delighted with him at the moment. But when results are slightly less impressive, this is the stick he will get beaten with.

Article behind a paywall.

Is this something he has actually said today, or just a rehashed comment making a hypothetical point or something?

Whether he has or not, it's a perfectly serviceable riposte, and one which really ought to be used more frequently in a lot of life's little situations.

The only thing I know is that I might be wrong about everything else.

People going on about MM’s Cardiff, while Barnsley pick up yet another win. Quietly, going on about their business sneaking up on those play off places, no one is paying them any attention.

It is amazing the man's ability to continue to have a hold on some of our fan base.

I am pleased for him and hope he gets Cardiff up - especially if it could be at Norwich's expense (which looks highly unlikely now).

Seriously?

Haven't you at least glanced through the thread before taking that at face value?

As for the OP, seems a nice guy but does keep making posts without substantiation.
