5 subs? 15:08 - Feb 28 with 500 views | jayessess | Noticed that yesterday was the first time we've used 5 subs. Are we missing a trick here? We've got a big squad and plenty of positions where the drop off in quality between starting XI and replacements is negligible. Wouldn't it be worth just making some pre-planned like for like swaps after 45 minutes and demanding a bit more intensity from both players in each half? (or is there an obvious reason why no one is doing that?)

5 subs? on 15:11 - Feb 28 with 471 views | itfcjoe | We were starting to look really leggy yesterday, it looked as though the subs we were making were with one eye on Tuesday. We need to make sure we utilise the full squad, the problem is the players that need the rest, most notably Norwood, at those where the drop off is so large

There's definitely a few positions where the quality is much of a muchness.: the full backs, the centre midfield, the wide forwards. Of course whilst Norwood to Drinan is a whole flight of stairs size of drop off, Norwood to Jackson is more just the one step, especially if we've got Parrott playing...

Jackson and Nolan really should be on the bench. Wolf also should be there. He can play in multiple positions whereas Ward is both past it and somewhat one dimensional these days. Drinan is just a willing runner. You are quite right with Norwood. Keeping him fit is crucial. Parrot's work rate should take some off Norwood's shoulders. A new manager bounce on the back of a decent points haul over the last 7 games and things could get exciting. Makes sense now that Evans did not get rid of Lambert months ago.
