He would not be the first player to go into management, some have even been successful. So I am still perplexed by why Drogba is a horrible thought (unless you are a defender or goalkeeper). A more important question I should have sought an answer to is 'has he got coaching qualifications?'

Catch 22 - you don't have the experience if you have never done the job and you never get the job if you don't have experience?
Frank Lampard spent a year or so appearing on television and writing children's books before he took his first steps into management at Derby and got them into a Championship play-off final in his first season there. Plenty of experienced managers have failed to that.

So what you are saying, is that Frank spent some time trying to explain things to children, and that helped him be successful at Derby.
Yea, I can see that.

I think we need to make sure he has his badges first...
I for one would be amazed, honoured & delighted if he came to us in some kind of assistant or junior coach role. Everyone has to start somewhere, & I have no doubt that he'd be a hugely positive influence around the place, particularly if people consider, eg, the recent reports from former Academy lads about the lack of welfare care for them. There'd be no lack of an arm around a shoulder where needed if DD joined us.
