There were comments about tiredness looking apparent on the radio and on here. I didn't see the game so can't say myself. For those who did maybe you/they could offer an opinion.

On Saturday I would bring in.....
Matherson for Chambers
Downes for Bishop
Edwards for Judge
And get Jackson and Nolan on the bench

Don't think that weakens us significantly, if st all.

Certainly seemed a bit leggy, and the pitch didn't help.

It was very apparent. It's an old radio.

Arguably, it strengthens us. I'd keep Judge in and bring Edwards in for Bennetts.

I agree but I would bring Downes in for either Bishop or Dozzell. I expect the game to be similar to last night so we’ll need players to be prepared to get stuck in. Norwood looked very tired towards the end, but we would be better off starting with him to try and get ahead and then take him off, much as we’ve been doing the last three games

Yes Downes for Bishop as already suggested and Mattherson for Chambo. Need Norwood to get match fit and sharp, so yeah keep him in.

You'll want Chambers in there, Gillingham a tough side to play against and will need his defensive strength when they bombard us as they inevitably will. Bennetts is one I'd drop, he's done fine but just no end product and not taking his chance, but the rest are all playing well.

Do we rest a few on Saturday... on 09:42 - Mar 3 with 1193 views | clive_baker | I think back 5 remains unchanged. Norwood has to start, we don’t have anyone remotely close to him in terms of that role. He gets a rest at Fleetwood in the not too distant future so I would like to see 3 starts from him between now and then. Parrot off him is looking better every game so I would leave those 2 to form a partnership. Heavy legs in the middle is likely, perhaps Harrop or Downes in for Bishop or Judge. Otherwise I wouldn’t be chopping and changing, we really need to get off to a good start on Saturday.

Normally I’d say that Downes and Edwards would warrant starting places but I think both have been pretty unspectacular when coming on since suspension/injury.

Bennetts does a lot of good work getting us up the pitch, drawing fouls, getting defenders to commit and follow him out of position, double-up on him etc. I think we might miss him more than we realise...

Chambers has been top class since Toto and Wilson have come in but he is at an age where he can’t keep playing two games a week. We looked tired as a team in the second half last night. They have played a lot if football recently and I think the older players, plus Bishop who we have to manage carefully, need a rest. We have players who are fit and fresh and can come in and do a job. I’d be worried that Chambers defensive strength has been used to the max recently. Mathewson is a Premier league player who will cope fine with Gilligham. I get what you are saying with Bennetts but I’d still rest Judge sue to his age. Then rest Bennetts for the next game. I wouldn’t want to make too many changes in one go. [Post edited 3 Mar 2021 9:49]

I agree. As others have said there is little or no end product so far but he is better on the ball than any other wide players that we have although we have seen so little of Thomas that we cannot be sure about him.
Do we rest a few on Saturday... on 09:48 - Mar 3 with 1136 views | SomethingBlue | Can't afford to prioritise. I think Gills away is as tough as Lincoln at home. Would have thought we could see Downes and Edwards though.

Do we rest a few on Saturday... on 09:56 - Mar 3 with 1090 views | Mullet | Downes for Bishop Sears for Judge Edwards for Bennetts Let the wingers switch every few attacks to protect the fullbacks and confuse theirs. Harrop for Parrott then use Troy as a sub when Norwood's toddler topknot weighs him down too much and his legs collapse. Sorted.

Sears? You’re a month early for April fools Mullers.

Au contraire Glassers. Freddie will just run and run and offer Kenlock some protection against a side who can hurt us (based on previous meetings) at a time when we need to be as a solid as possible and nick a win. We can go all gung ho against teams more likely to match us I'd argue and be safer doing so at home. 60 mins of solid football and changing the game from the bench makes sense given we've scrapped through 3 games to good effect.

We’re winning but hardly playing well. Both Doncaster and Accrington deserved at least a point from those matches. Saying that I’m not sure what changes to make? We’ve had a couple coming back from injury so maybe give them a rest? Holy Chambers - Nsiala - Wilson - Kenlock Downes - Dozzell Parrott - Judge - Edwards Norwood Subs: Cornell, Ward, Woolfenden, Nolan, Bishop, Bennetts, Jackson

Whilst Sears played very well early season, especially with Ward behind him, he’s offered nothing since his return from injury. Then again, neither has Edwards. Which is a concern. [Post edited 3 Mar 2021 10:19]

Yes there is a danger of repeating past mistakes. Play well and win. Play ok and win. Play poorly and win. Play poorly and lose. The warning signs are there. No harm in freshening things up. Especially as we have a very large squad and quality okayers who can come in no replace tired players.
