Dunno if this has been posted already and can't be bothered to trawl through 4 pages to find out as I'm tired but determined to catch the start of the cricket (I may still fail though).
Never a huge fan of Level 42 but they did put out some belting tunes.

They fall into that category of 'bands I can easily listen to' but they don't make my list of faves. Huge respect for them though, especially M. King.
I now and again go a bit nostalgic on Spotify and play quite a bit of that era. Memories of simpler times.
I was only playing this earlier
I know what you mean.
Level 42 would struggle to get a look in at my wake, but they take me back to when I was a fine young dandy resplendent in faded Lois and a feck off Pringle.
Big Country are a band to me who you would class in your Level 42 category. I wouldn't really listen to them at all but I remember when The Crossing came out and I remember feeling a bit sad when Stuart hanged himself.
At one point in what seems like another life I used to listen to The Crossing a lot and I really liked Chance.

I wonder if that was partially influence for this...
Does sound like it doesn't it. GO4 were a great band. Quite underrated but very influential to that crop of 2000's acts like Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party etc.
