This is my favourite specials tune, and there are so many to pick from. I’ve got Richarlison in my fantasy draft team recently and when he scores I sing this to his name (#losingitinlockdown)

Nice one vapey!!! Apologises I could remember who
Lots of their Old Grey Whistle test on YouTube
I’ll look that lot up cheers keno. I was slightly too young first time around but saw them a few times from 09 when they got going again. Dalai Farmer told me off on here once for going to see them without Dammers.
They were the fcking business though, still got it.

The very antithesis of modern manufactured tat.
It's alive.

My kids have got to the age where they’ve wrestled back occasional control of music devices when we’re in the same space, and every now and again I hear something from them I really like.

My Nan used to sing this to me when I was a nipper.....can you imagine then hearing my favourite band belt it out when I went to see the at Tiffany's in Gt Yarmouth '79... saw them again in 2009 and a couple of years ago in 2019... 40 years on and they were still awesome!

The Specials 1979 in Tiffany's - Wow! That must have been amazing.
We took two coaches to Tiffanys on a stag night for a radio one roadshow of all things once. Steve Wright in the Afternoon was compering and at one point he came out and kept doing the "Is anyone here from Lowestoft, Norwich, Thetford, Lincoln" that sort of thing.
He never mentioned Ipswich, I swear to god he had been told not to as there was another stag from Ipswich in town the same day and it had been lively all afternoon. He did mention Stowmarket though.
I'm guessing we all got kicked out as I remember ending up in Rosie O Gradies
It was all a bit like The Jolly Boys Margate day out. A load of us (not me) went on one of those stupid sky turntable roundabout things (Big wheel?) and my mates whisky bottle fell out of his poxket and landed on the floor like an asteroid just missing some blokes nugget.

“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.

Was probably the best gig I ever went too.... Specials / Selecter/Dexys...( Two tone tour, I believe one of the first without Madness who'd signed with Stiff and left to tour The States)
The Selecter have also worn very well too!

Great band. Managed to see them live eventually a couple of years ago at Brixton Academy. Was just a kid when they came out, 79 I think, but been a fan ever since.

Not sure if that's the original drummer, I think he might be, looks familiar, but doesn't he have the most excellent, almost Millsian posture?
John Bradbury was the original drummer. He died a few years back. The whole 2 Tone era is still some of my favourite music. Great bands, great tunes and still very relevant today.
