Leaking team news on Twitter... 09:38 - Mar 6 with 2816 viewsStudentBlue

Why would anyone want to leak this sort of information on Twitter or anywhere for that matter. Outside of the possible advantage to the opposition, it’s utterly pointless and ruins the excitement leading up to a match.

Poll: How will you be voting tomorrow?

It's division 3 lineup not exactly the remit of Mossad. Who cares?

Fair enough if you're excited by the lineup coming out, but I'd avoid social media for the day if so.

It's been happening in the Prem recently with players informing their mates who is and isn't playing cause of Fantasy Football. I'm not sure why you would bother in League 1, you're right

Hang on, wasn’t Phil penalised because someone posted team news on here? Suddenly, we’re becoming all precious because it’s been done somewhere else.

Exactly.

It shouldn't be leaked from within but even if it is we are playing Gillingham in the 3rd division and even if we told them the team a week before we should be good enough to be going there and getting a result.

The fact some are worried that they might know our team just highlights the state Lambert left us in.

Play to our strengths, don't worry so much about the opposition.

The same as all post on Twitter.

The need for attention above all else.

There is such a weird culture of people on social media trying to make themselves seem important by being the first to share some sort of information. This is a small time version of that.

Just look at the number of posts on here and social media this week and last in relation to Lambert, Cook and the takeover. Most of it educated guess work.

Let's be honest it wasn't because of the team news. That was given as the reason to punish twtd for the growing negativity and animosity towards Lambert

How does it ruin the excitement - if you’re excited about the team announcement how does it make any difference if you find out the team through Twitter or via the club channels? The days of seeing the team announced in the stadium are long gone, and wouldn’t apply at the minute anyway

That’s not actually what’s been happening. What’s happened is a number of players and staff play FPL and people have picked up things via looking at their activity, such as the other week when a number of Villa players and staff all transferred Grealish out of their teams

EDIT: they’ll be banned from playing next season anyway, either by the league or individual clubs

Totally agree and let’s be honest would an opponent really be looking through Twitter for this information and even if so who’s to say the team people post will even actually be the team. I’m not on tw*tter but I’m guessing most of the information is ALL legit.... hmmmm

Disagree. Regardless of the level you're at, you don't want the opposition knowing your lineup before they have too. Needless advantage given away imo.

So if someone posts the team 2 hours prior to the game you think that’s gives them a huge advantage to knowing it anyway an hour before the game! As SB said what a sad state were in if that was the case.
In reality the tactics adjustments made due to a team sheet being announced earlier than normal would still lead to the same conversations amongst the opposition. If you think they are all going to sit down two hours before the game to change their tactics because some no body put a team on tw*t tweet then you’d be mistaken IMO

I didn't say a huge advantage?

It's common sense mate, and gives an advantage to the opposition. Small advantage, huge advantage, whatever! But to say it doesn't is a bit silly.

My point is how is it an advantage at all because who’s to say that will be the team!! You believe everything you see and read on the internet
