I remember the good old days when we got a new manager 17:50 - Mar 6 with 1265 viewsblueasfook

At least that would give the team a boost and we would at least win a few games.

Now we don't even get that. Just straight into the losing.

Even Mick won his first match and then lost two of his next three 5-0 and 6-0. At what point (now I have really calmed down) do we start wondering if the problem runs deeper than the manager?

Which one are you thinking?

Burley, battered at Everton.

Royle, first league game lost.

Magilton, lost.

It’s practically a tradition around these parts.

That has been obvious for a while. I'm not getting on cooks case. Didn't expect much from today. He's got a huge job on his hands to turn things around. He's stuck with what he has inherited this season. I'll be happy to just to stay up or maybe sneak in the play offs. I don't think that's unthinkable. See if he can get us winning again at least.

I will certainly take another Ramsey, Lyall or Burley over another Milburn or Keane.

Of course it’s deeper than the manager. It’s a rotten football club. It’s been so for years. I think Cook will be fine, but he won’t do much unless ownership changes.

Cook rightly said all the right things over the past few days. But anyone who’s watched the club since the early 2000s knows what we are, why we are here and where we are going if Evans hangs on to the club. Cook is the seventh manager of Evans’ 13 year ownership. He won’t be the worst. That glorious achievement is held by the last two idiots. But how well Cook does will almost certainly depend on who owns the club going forward.

Fingers crossed there is a takeover. Personally I have my doubts, but then I did over a change of manager, so I can hope.

Good summary there but who have you missed out? Should be 18 managers.

Edit. Just seen Guthers post.

It's quite remarkable that we've only had the amount of managers we have had. I think Watford have had that many in 5 years.

Royle had the most jeopardy, the unbeaten European record on the line along with massive unease at him replacing the popular Burley.

Loved the big man.

Never really noticed, but looking at that list and the add-ons from Guthrum, we seem to do quite a lot of same named managers. Two Scotts in a row, two Bobbys in a row, two Johns in a row. Really surpassing ourselves with Pauls though.

I think the run weve had made it harder for Cook today as he couldn't really make to many changes to that team whilst also barely having any training time with them.

Tuesdays lineup will be interesting..... I couldn't quite tell if Cook was saying he will most likely stick with it or if he was saying he wouldn't tell the press of his plans.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.
