I think this is worthy of a music thread on 10:28 - Mar 8 by factual_blue
Looking forward to seeing them at the Apex in November, lockdowns permitting.
It'll be almost fifty years to the day since I saw them at the Rainbow.
I've only seen them once, at Kennington Oval. Early wicket collapse but a late order batting partnership ...No, it was the Melody Maker poll winners concert when they finished the bill after Emerson. Lake and Palmer (complete with Keith Emerson sticking knives in his organ). They were reasonably good but maybe in transition at that point, I think it was still the original line up but change was, to use a word I have heard somewhere, imminent. Best band on the day were Fruupp; had only been vaguely aware of the name and didn't know a single thing by them but they were such accomplished musicians that their whole set seemed instantly accessible.

Hello, hello, hello, now here's a message from your queen As figurehead of the status quo I set the social scene I'm most concerned about my people, I want to give them peace So I'm making sure they stay in line with my army and police My prisons and my mental homes have ever open doors For those amongst my subjects who dare to ask for more Unruliness and disrespect are things I can't allow So I'll see the peasants grovel if they refuse to bow
