Has offered more of a threat in these opening 6 minutes than Norwood managed in the last 2 games. Those who hammer him constantly don't know football. He works the channels really well and he's produced two excellent cut backs already.

Yeah he snatched at that a little. Good run and first touch, just needed to hit it low.

Should have scored, but I'll credit the keeper for closing it down quickly too.

Twice.

There's nothing wrong with his all round game, but that's two times he's been through and didn't show any conviction for either.

The defenders are massively assisting that though. Not sure you can attribute that to him pressing they are just terrible

Norwood would've put that chance away. Great, he's had a good start, he's got another 84 of those to work through, he needs to keep it up and take the chances he gets.

Norwood score a one on one? Unlikely. He probably wouldn't have got himself in that position, he'd have been too busy wrestling the centre back.

He would have been unlikely to get that chance, he doesn't run in behind as much.

I'm glad Jackson is getting a chance through the middle, he's good given the service.

Neither Jackson or Norwood are that great one on one with the keeper unfortunately.

We didn't really get him in the game then either. It was them making mistakes apart from the ball from Wilson. We are still going too long to him too often

Yep. I like Jackson but he isn’t good with his back to goal, which is all he’s has sone the 20 minute mark. That’s where Norwood is far superior to him.

I still think Norwood + Jackson is the way forward.

I don’t like Dozzell & Bishop in the middle together, as much as I like them both they’re lightweight in there. Real shame to see Downes go off, he was doing well.

Spot on. We can't play in the manner of Manchester City and be able to play in a style where we don't need to go direct, our players aren't of that calibre. Jackson might be able to run the channels but he hasn't got the physical strength to hold the ball up when needed. We could really do with a player that is a blend of the two of them to play that role.

Herbs just wanted to vent and use it as justification to dig some people out. His post is a little non-sensical in all reality. Jackson has proven he’s not suited as a lone striker irrespective of whether he has the odd good game. I’m a big fan of Jackson but you’re right, he’s drifted out of the game and struggles with his back to goal. I can’t see how Jackson fits into Cook’s proffered system long term but I hope he finds a space for him.

If the three playing off him were better he'd already have a couple of assists today playing up top.

Set up Judge for a sitter, two or three other good cutbacks that others haven't made the most of. You've gone all Edwards here, Blubbers.

His running in the channels is excellent and it’s easy to see why him and Norwood worked so well as a two. Jackson’s work for the openings and Norwood’s movement and poaching in the box is a good complimentary partnership. It’a problem for Cook; they need to play together. Maybe it’s time for Jackson to get a run as an inside forward in place of Edwards which is what we discussed last season.
