This is Evans’ legacy - a culture of failure.
Too many players that are comfortable feeling sorry for themselves rather than roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.
We have plenty of good footballers and ‘nice’ personalities but who at the club is a real winner that can drag this group through tough moments? You wouldn’t use up your fingers on one hand trying to count them.
A good coach like Cook will be able to set the team up better than before but we’re always going to get nights like this unless Evans bucks his ideas up or removes himself from the equation entirely. |  |

I hope Cook will come out and admit we were utter sh*t tonight. Picking Skuse was a mistake he never got to grips with the pitch, almost all passes astray but the biggest thing is we just have no goal threat. Either it's the system or the players or probably both, but it ain't working. To be fair to Cook he's had no time to train and coach and sort them out. Hopefully people will realise that the big change Ipswich Town needs is the takeover rather than Cook, he can only do so much when there is a rotten heart at the core of this club. | | | |

I think it's down to the length of time we've been in the absolute Doldrums as a club, since the last few years of McCarthy - it's like steeping the entire club in poison for years, and the players just can't shake it off. Very hard to see how you can get enough momentum to permanently remove the malignancy.
It's just been allowed to drag on for far, far, far too long, by the owner, and not sure if any manager can make much of a change without a huge clear out of players, taking the poison with them. [Post edited 16 Mar 2021 22:05]
