We might want a slightly larger squad than most of say 27 players given our injury record that means twelve more players of which I reckon about 6 need to be decent money signings, and the others stepping up from U23s/U18s.
Edit: At least 3 or 4 of those six need to be really strong characters, to reset the collective psyche of this squad. They also, of course, need to be decent footballers, of reliable fitness and a sensible age, and as such will cost significant USD. [Post edited 16 Mar 2021 22:50]

It’s all opinions, but for me our midfield is a real problem area, it doesn’t create much, rarely scores goals, often gets out fought and over run in games. The problem we have is that whatever combination is put in there it fails to deliver. If I was PC that’s one of the areas I’d be looking to address in the summer and if that means moving on a few of our home grown players then so be it. |  |

Is that what Cook is doing now, giving them the chance to prove themselves? Not many of the loanees are now involved apart from the odd 1 or 2. The rest appear to be given their chance to show they deserve to be here beyond this season. PC is getting his answer crystal clear with these types of displays. | |

A midfield enforcer and a decent target man would be my top priorities. I wouldn't offer new contracts to nearly all the out of contract players - extend those of Jackson (but maybe sell as he doesn't fit into 4-2-3-1) & Bishop. Don't see any of the others as worth keeping, save some of the younger players such as Nydam if there's a good chance he can get fit. |  |
