This is what smug right wingers need to remember-under these new laws, the petrol blockages of the the early 00's, the C*u*n*tryside Alliance marches and Nige's Gammon March For blue Passports would have fallen foul of these laws as well.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Then again I suppose this happens at every football match up and down the country, so I’m not surprised

Zero sympathy to be honest, time and a place comes to mind. The police out numbered and surrounded how do you think they’re going to react if you approach them and get in their faces! Too many think it’s acceptable to act like this and then blame the police. If you’re at home, where you’re supposed to be, you won’t run into trouble...... simples

The longer this kind of cr@p goes on the longer we’ll be in lockdown, what do people not understand

Break the law, refuse to be moved along, get physical themselves, then cry when they're given some back.

No sympathy i'm afraid.

1 side to the story as usual .what led to this ? While I’m all for peaceful protest now is not the time . Look at last weeks “vigil” . Who takes placards to a vigil?

If it wasn’t for social distancing and mass gathering restrictions I doubt many would have turned up to Clapham Common at all. It feels that last week was a good excuse for the anti establishment mob to hijack what should have been a peaceful remembrance service for that poor woman.

Not entirely sure what this particular incident was all about, as it seems to be a bit of a mix between those, (rightly), protesting against the new bill, and those who are complaining about lock-downs, whilst not bothering with face-coverings or distancing, so adding to the overall problem.

Last week's vigil however, was another matter entirely.

Sarah Everard's fate was a catalyst for action, for people to stand up and demand more be done to protect women, not only in the street, but within society in general.

To cite lockdown there doesn't work. Domestic violence has increased over the past year, so we cannot then say to women, 'shut up and stay home' if all that is doing is exasperating the problem for a number of them.

The publicity may have made a few men think twice about assaulting their partners already off the back of the outcry alone. Who knows?

But the numbers who came out in solidarity were not 'just' about Sarah Everard, any more than the BLM protest were all about George Floyd.

Each of these unfortunate people's situations are symbolic of far wider issues that need addressing.

We really are not in any position to make these judgements if we are not directly affected ourselves.

Most of this lot would be at any protest whether it be Reclaim the streets, BLM, or any other protest group that is seen as putting 1 over the powers that be. And that is not me knocking any of these groups I’m merely pointing out that some will jump on any band wagon to get the authorities backs up.
