The majority of them are going to take the easy way out. Leave at the end of their contract or jump ship. Cook is limited in what he can do until that sort out has happened.
So as others have said, the focus can only be on shape and trying to get the most out of them whilst they are still here.

I would say a fair few of them are in limbo about their contract situations & should be trying to impress the new manager or others watching them. Equally, if you're someone like Edwards - out of contract & not going to be short of offers - would you look after yourself a bit, although in fairness to Edwards his commitment has seemed very good.

Most players at the end of their contract will need a very good end to the season... either to gain employment at ITFC next season, or a deal elsewhere. These are league 1 players.

The evidence would suggest that in many cases they are fairly dim 3rd Division players for whom the reality of potential unemployment hasn’t yet hit home.....

A lot will still be coasting. A fair few know their days are numbered and don't want to be injured going into May when the agents start touting them about.

Think you may well have put your finger on it there ðŸ‘
Let's hope Cook can get a tune out of our Pedigree Chumps and get them to stop chasing their tails. We need a team of St Bernards out there, not the bunch of labradoodles we currently have.

Good question, in a ‘Dogs 11’, what are we choosing? As the owner of one, I have Jack Russells in the midfield, marshalled by a Border Collie, though our disciplinary record would be obscene. A reliable pair of Retrievers in Central defence, Chihuhuas as wing backs, very ballsy little dogs, up front, a Pit Bull, with a rather elegant greyhound beside him. In goal, something like a German Shepherd, calm, reliable, barking at his defence.
