Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 08:39 - Mar 29 by MB26
A much juicer episode and more Ted is always a bonus. A few bits I'm not particularly a fan of.
1.) The unnecessary romantic storylines/subplots. Kate and Davidson might turn out to be some sort of clever manipulation but if it's purely to add another layer I don't think it's needed whatsoever. Same with Steve and John's wife.
2.) The way in which Ryan is hiding in plain sight whenever Steve is around. It's a bit campy to me, is he going to hide behind a newspaper with eyeholes cut out next time?
Overall it's been quite a linear story so far which by Line of Duty standards generally means there's a twist or two to come.

Neat!
Kate is simply allowing Jo to think she can get romantically close in order to get more on her. Think Jo is properly dodgy, didn't get into things by accident, but once they had one thing on her she was dragged in far deeper than she expected.
I always find main characters' outside/home lives in any police drama incredibly uninteresting/irritating/mostly irrelevant, but am often grateful to them for allowing me the time to make a cuppa!
Was also grateful to Hastings for summarising the plot thus far in the lengthy interview!
Hung together & flowed along much better than last week's I thought.

Do you reckon Kate's still AC-12 then, and it's only Ted that knows?

Might be Captain Obvious here but did anyone catch Terry Boyle saying "the other man, he did it" but he actually said "Ian" who is DCI Ian Buckles, the man who's just be arrested by AC-12.

Can't say I heard that tbh.
Thought tonight's was a cracker, loved the way they brought real-life events into it ("Operation Peartree" for Yewtree, reference to a "famous former pop star" being filmed as he was arrested on suspicion of involvement in paedophile activities etc).
Det Supt Buckles is as bent as a three pound note but he’s not H. Quite a few theories going round that DCI Davidson is related to John Corbett in one way or another and possibly Ted could even be her Dad. I think she is being blackmailed by the OCG.

Buckles is incompetent and not very good, but he has been set up by Davidison who has used Kate to arrest him, leaving the spotlight off Davidson. She has the burner phones.
I think this will be the last series for Hasings, time is catching up with him, the Super Intendant is trying to stop him investigating H and he is on his last warning. Expect to see time catch up with him (he has given cash to Corbetts wife so she can keep the house) and for Steve Arnott to take over next series.

Davidson is not talking to H MK4- She IS H MK - Clever cut at the end. I feel she's issuing the orders, not taking them. She is still related to Tommy is my theory.

Yep, the Buckles thing just feels like a really obvious red herring, he's clearly not competent enough to be doing much more organising and is just a useful idiot

I think Steve won’t make it to the end of the series, it’s what he said about only having the job left and with his dodgy back and drug testers lurking around I fear he might sacrifice himself at some point.

I actually think Arnott will be written our of the show at the end of this season. I swear I heard he had other projects tugging at him, and he does live in Las Vegas after all. One would hope he is there until the end - but I would quite happily see the last season (which I think is the next one) turn into Hastings dying as he goes vigilante, having been fired from AC12.
Of course, there is still a very real chance he is H - as even though Jill went down at the end of the last season, I feel the "I was watching Porn" was far too flimsy of a reason in the lore, and far too lazy as a reason from the writing point of view.

I don't usually follow the hype shows usually, but watched it at 3am while bored on lock down. It is quite a fun show with some great characters, although you have to apply "showbiz" logic to some of the plot.
Did you forget about the man in the water proof sandals, he was always complaining that his hands were not really his.
and what about Brian Barry Murphy, i like him.
