Noticed they’d lost to Turkey tonight and went and had a gander at their squad. 2/3 players aside it really is a bang average group of players. They even had Krul in goal.
Maybe they’ve just been blessed over the past few decades to have as many talented players as they’ve had, given how relatively small a nation they are in comparison with the other elite European sides |  |

Cruyff et al were before my time, but when I first got into footbal they had Gullit, Rijkard and Van Basten, and then there was the team of the late 90's that formed the basis of the Van Gaal Ajax team.
I guess a major miss for them at the moment in Van Dijk. |  |
