True, but I reckon Ryan Fraser would have pushed Kevin O'Callaghan for his spot. Didsy would have been a decent substitute if Eric Gates was injured or AWOL, and Murphy would have made a reasonable substitute for Paul Mariner.
Mings is not Butcher or Osman, but he would have been a very good squad player for the great 81 team.
