Everton's proposed new stadium 22:54 - Mar 26 with 2222 viewsMarshalls_Mullet

Looks like a work of art...

Certainly a massive improvement on the identikit stadiums of 20 years ago!

...hope it doesn't get 'value engineered' too much!!

Despite the old stands with restricted views, Goodison has character with a decent atmosphere by Premier League standards.

While that new stadium looks great, it will be interesting to see how quickly crowds of 52,000 will depart following a match with the very restricted access unless they have a boat.

I hate the identikit stadiums and I think stadium designers have learned from the mistakes of them

I do appreciate budget may inhibit creativity if capacity is purely you're main goal but the stadium is part of a club's identity.

I don't think anyone goes to Leicester or Southampton and thinks wow what a ground but it's worked for them.

Location is another factor, Tottenham for example haven't moved so the match day experience won't have changed (CoVid excepted for obvious reasons).

If we ever wanted a new stadium and let's be honest, the likelihood of the need for that in the near future seems unlikely.

I'd want is to build a new all singing all dancing one at Portman Road, built with extended capacity and capabilities designed for atmosphere and experience and not simply the cheapest option possible to boost capacity with little in the way of aesthetics or original layout.

I don't like Brighton as a club but their new ground at least follows a more traditional layout.

Brentford's new ground looks impressive and again looks like a more traditional layout rather than a souless some with no discernible features.

New stadiums are a double edged sword. Arsenal's shiny new ground was built to the detriment of the team. They have not really challenged since leaving Highbury.

I'm not so sure. If you look at some of the lesser known Spanish grounds they are quite austere and practical but have a uniqueness to them.

That's for a variety of reasons, I believe it's fairly profitable in terms of ticket income but it's not the great source income to these megaclubs.

I'm not pretending their income isn't reasonable from ticket sales and the corporate side must be fairly healthy or was before CoVid but with the billionaire owners, mega sponsorship deals and huge TV deals. The crowd element is a bonus for these top clubs really.

Arsenal's budget will have been limited, paying for the Stadium by all means but I think fundamentally they haven't happened upon a top manager since losing Wenger. The same is true for Man U as well really although they've at least had more of a go at trying to find one.

The other issue is the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, City, Liverpool and now even Leicester have risen up and challenged their natural dominance, breaking them out of that set top four place every season.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I wouldn't disagree about that either, it can be done but it doesn't seem to be the British way does it?

We seem to have ones which look like they were designed by a committee.

The US grounds in the MLS too seem to be more interesting when they're not always that large.

If you put a big green tube round the outside it would look a bit like centre parcs.
Bring your trunks for a half time swim.
Hang onto your chicken balti pie whilst riding the wild water rapids.

My first thought was that it was reminiscent, or since it does not yet exist maybe that should be preminiscent, of this

There's probably a phrase that sums up Arsenal fans who wished for Wenger to leave.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Increased income to spend more on players' wages.

A damn shame the old ground would go, I really need to visit soon.

I went for a walk around Stratford's park last week and it aging really well now the trees are aged a little. Beautiful in fact and remaining stadiums really add to it. An actual success story.

It looks logistically interesting

Everton probably benefit from a lot of their fans being able to walk to the ground from within Liverpool where as a club like ours, it's probably not unusual for a decent portion of the fans driving 20 - 30 miles

That said, the first thing I thought when I saw the location, is a lack of parking and access
