Stockholm Syndrome 13:58 - Mar 27 with 1070 views | Dyland | Some of our fans have a serious case of it innit. I don't dislike Evans. I don't know him. I don't know much about his businesses, or if he is some kind of crook as some like to say. I don't like MEG owning ITFC. I'm not paying them any more money. I can tolerate the team losing, and I can tolerate sh1te football. I can't tolerate the years of constant injuries and lack of proper fitness support and all that. This is the absolute minimum a fan who pays the club should expect. He's never going to get the balance right. I don't expect him to spunk loads on transfers. Marcus Evans is either incompetent, or a liar. He needs to just go. Somehow, anyhow. COYFB

I didn't cancel my ST but I ain't renewing. It's death by a thousand cuts with MEG at the helm.

Stockholm Syndrome on 14:05 - Mar 27 with 995 views | Steve_M | Quite, 13 years of incompetence and some still make excuses for him. Ultimately, there's no pride taken in the club from the owner downwards and it shows - in the injuries, the neglect of the ground, the removal of any presence in the community. Too much outside the first team is done on the cheap or just not done. Evans can't run a football club successfully, and yet he seems unable to accept that either. Cook may provide a short-term improvement on the pitch but the club is moribund until the ownership changes.

Re Cook... I like what he says... but we seem to be the only club not getting a new manager bounce any more. And yes, I blame the Marcus Evans Group! :)

Blaming Chambers in any way for our slow but inexorable decline is ridiculous. But yes, he's not immune from criticism on the pitch obviously.

Proper bloke thing innit. I'm a bit ambivalent about Chambers tbh... purely re footballing ability...

The Chambers obsession some of our supporters have is very odd. You'd think he'd shagged their wives the way some of them carry on.

A new manager bounce is actually a bit of a myth I think. There was something I read a while ago that, statistically, there's little discernible improvement in points per game over a few weeks. Obviously some changes make a big immediate difference - Mick McCarthy in 2012 for example - but not that many. I like Cook, his enthusiasm and his approach to the game but his preferred way of playing takes us back to something that hasn't worked for us since October. His comments this week give some indications of why that might be but it also suggests that it might be next season before we see any significant improvement. I think the prospect of Evans staying in charge makes Cook less of a welcome change on his own than it looked like being a few weeks ago.

I don’t make excuses, just a little more pragmatic about the whole situation rather than the petulance shown by so many. Stockholm syndrome doesn’t apply here either, I assume it’s a weak attempt at an analogy? We are all here of our free will. You don’t have to support ITFC, in fact some don’t it seems, yet they still turn up here day in day out.
Stockholm Syndrome on 14:34 - Mar 27 with 776 views | RegencyBlue | More and more people do seem to be acknowledging where the real problem lies! The crunch will come at season ticket renewal time. If enough people fail to renew it will hopefully make Evans realise his time here is done. On the other hand if numbers stay as they are then the relentless decline will continue.

Hardly petulant, is it. It's a good analogy! For fishing, at the very least :)

This line bugs me by BlueBadger 24 Mar 2021 12:42I think its a mark of the respect that people have for our glorious captain that they seem to believe that he's responsible for not only playing CB/RB and captaining the side but setting PR strategy, playing style, transfer policy, etc and blame him for those as well.
