The new Ipswich Way, meanwhile the other East Anglian team, with no great investment do so wel.
It's getting to the stage where I can't look at the result.

Certainly under Evans ownership. Dire.

11th in League One is the new 15th in the Championship.

If Evans sticks around, within 5 years, we’ll have downgraded expectations to 8th in League Two.

Money's not the whole answer, but we fell well down the pecking order in terms of both transfers and wages during the last few year in the Championship. The only reason we look financially competitive now is because we got relegated.

And there's been no investment behind the scenes on facilities as far as I'm aware apart from some patching up now and then.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I believe the OP was referring to Norwich, not us. They of course have been propped up by a continual stream of parachute payments.

Don't kick the monkey Illy, kick the organ grinder! It's hardly the fault of NCFC that parachute payments are available to relegated clubs from the PL. Mind you, it is a requirement to gain promotion in the first place to qualify!

‘No real investment’ - look at what they did with their academy which is cat 1, while ours is sh!te. They have invested loads behind the scenes. They then sell their young players for millions. We need to stop sniping at others who succeed and follow good practice. Can’t think of one cat 1 academy that can’t point to player sales to show a huge profit. So this is nothing to do with Norwich, it’s to do with us. We need to make long term changes for long term success

got to completely agree.

Does any half decent academy not pay for itself.

A couple feeding through to our first team and finding one that sells on every year or so surely pays for itself. surely we can find and develop talent that is better than what we put out each week at the moment.

Plus you can build up community activity, connect with schools and grass roots, get increased use of facilities and assets that carry fixed costs, involve local business in sponsorship and support. Basically be a club.

How much do they cost to run?

What has our academy actually produced in the last 5 years???? a few swollen heads is about all in my opinion just look at Dozzel and Bishop everyone rated them as world beaters but they cant even cope with league 1.

Maybe wrong, but wasn't it something like £4-£5 Million per year for cat 1
