that the club issue a statement saying they are about to upgrade something make it sound really innovative and forward thinking, and almost everyone of us just falls about laughing.

God we've just been starved of anything for so long haven't we.

It's embarrassing and everything about that statement just highlights how far behind the curve we are, have been and will continue to be. We need to move on from Evans urgently.

Why even mention it. They should just get on with it.

Honestly, I'm waiting for the statement from L'On at the end of May.

"Owing to the continuing pandemic, particularly in Europe and our continued position as a L1 club, finances remain tight, although we remain committed to upgrading our recruitment facilities, this will now be completed over the course of the next three years on a gradual basis rather than this summer"

Nothing would surprise me.

We've seen and heard it all before though haven't we. 5 point plans in which the goals are never met, upgrading the Academy which never happens, not bringing in loans, taking cups seriously this time and there was the "money to spend" soundbite they kept uttering years back. It's all absolute waffle to sell Season Tickets to those who still buy into it.

As I said in the previous posts, if we don't have a handle on who the best players are in this division 2 years into being in it we really do have an issue. This is basic, day one, stuff. We should have already been looking at the data, sending scouts out and have a list of the players who are best at this level as well as people who could do a job in League One who might need a bit of a career refresh from the Championship.

This is basic stuff. This really shouldn't be touted as some sort of innovation. Apparently prior to this we've signed players by drawing names out of a hat and chucking random bids in.

We've dressed up the same half-baked rubbish in different plans, statements and guises for too long. Why believe this would be anything different? Time for a real change.

It's probably Lee O'Neil to go with his other ten jobs. He'll be serving up pasties at half time next season.

It does beg a host of questions.

Why now?
What were you doing before?
Does the analysis include research into injury records?
How much is "a lot of investment into the recruitment area of the Club"?
A lot of the best prospects cost money, or will we still be focussing our efforts on free signings?
Identifying targets is only one component of recruitment......who will be responsible for negotiating the deals?
What are we doing to get ahead of other clubs rather than remaining years behind?

They’ve got a (good) marketing manager, but no head of comms or similar. Really obvious requirement that any medium-sized-plus business would have, let alone a high profile one like a big football club.

Lee O’Neill seems to be fulfilling the role at the moment. Stuart Taylor appeared to be dealing with journalists at the end of the Lamber regime. Absolute shambles of a club.

Yeah but what they have said amounts to as silly a statement as "next season our objective is win football matches". We should have already been doing this and we're right to question why we haven't been, who made the decision not to and we need to question if that person is still employed or in charge of anything, why? If the decision was Evans.... then that's more rocks for us to throw at him and he's picking up one hell of a collection at the moment.

But we already know we are behind on things. There will be alot that comes out as they start doing more. Each time is it going to be met with how have we not been doing it. It's a joke etc etc.

So prime example at the bottom of your reply. Not yes excellent for finally getting it done. Its met with negativity and wanting to throw stones. So he may aswell stick with what's not worked as clearly doing something positive isnt enough for you either.

Because we've listened to so many false dawns from the club before. Only to realise Evans has gone about it half cocked and is trying to shop at Harrods on a Lidl budget.

I stopped believing anything positive coming out of the club a long time ago. Don't tell us what is 'going' to happen. Just do it and then show us the benefits.

I just have zero confidence it'll happen as stated.

Gone are the days where you just take someone's opinion.

Well no. That what Scouts do. Supply options with facts and figures.

Unless we just owned up to asking Dave at the pub to give us a name of a league 1 defender and he said Toto so we just offered money for him.

If It is an AF my god this club has fallen.
