I haven't seen Budge for many years but back in the day he was always our minibus driver for away games - and boy did we have a ball. Sladey, Kempy, Abdul to name a few. Great times.
Budge though by his nature is very tight, he drove to every away game at 55.5mph so as to conserve petrol.

One of Jeera's mates kindly pointed out that because of my age I must now be suffering from being senile and that explains my comments on here, perhaps he's right I am getting to that age where I don't suffer most of the political keyboard warriors on here well. its a sign of getting old spider! I don't remember much of the day except being very uncomfortable. As the youngest by quite some distance (I think I was 15 or 16) I was one of the three that were in the boot.
I think we were in that pub near the shopping centre before the game and it all went off when Luton came out of it. After the game I don't remember but I think we had some info of our lot getting a bit of a hammering (but that might have been the game a year or two later)
Did we take a detour to Cambridge after the game? It's a bit hazy. | |
