God have mercy on League One, because we won’t. COYB!!! Ipswich enter new era with £40m takeover by Gamechanger 20 | Ipswich Town | The Guardian https://t.co/M47Yqcj2kG
Was discussed last night I think it was, seems to be genuine and from the guy who's part of the pension investment fund.
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
Think Phil did this story off the back of that tweet...
PSPRS Pension Fund Backing New Town Ownership11th Apr 2021 22:40 The pension fund backing the Gamechanger 20 takeover of the Blues which was confirmed on Wednesday is Arizona’s Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS).26
He's for real, has been active on LinkedIn as well. Not sure he's that close to any of the decision making but good to see there's some high enthusiasm there!

He needs to shut his mouth (or stop typing), with some of the other bits he's coming out with on twitter though!

This. Still not sure it will actually happen, but if we are going to be signing players for fees and he’s shouting from the rooftops that we’re loaded; clubs will definitely hold us to ransom over fees.

That's a good idea, buy promotion.
Nobody has thought of trying that before, can't fail.
Have a feeling its not about signings they do seem to understand the need for structure. They do appear to understand theres lots of things behind scenes they need to sort out and spend money on to and he does mention this on one of his replies.

That’s an awful lot of glitter they are going to need to buy if we aren’t to sign players to get out of League 1

It really wasn't presented in that context.
He was told that "You'd better have deep pockets"
And her replied with the fund's total, which was something billions and $700m in cash. There was no intimation that we were going to try to buy promotion.

I can only presume that the Aguero announcement is moving from "close" to "imminent".
Nope not Aguero, but another Argentinean striker finally signs.
All hail Battistuta! Goleador especial!I
Maybe the new owners could introduce a John Lewis element to the ownership, so that big names come in and only get paid up when certain milestones achieved; starting with promotion to championship, prem, a cup win, top 4 and entry to CL culminating with winning World Club Championship, Ibrahimovic scoring a hat trick at a sprightly young age of 47, having signed for 21/22 season and scored 100s of goals.

While true, how many clubs have got promoted to the Prem in the last 5 years on a shoestring budget?
We are in the third division-I honestly thought that we had 'bought' a place in the Premier League the night that we as shareholders approved the Marcus Evans takeover but trying or even needing to buy a promotion place out of the third division is embarrassing.
There is some point to trying to buy promotion from The Championship although usually that fails but talking about splashing the cash to get out of this level is laughable.
