I will never forgive Hurst for some of his transfer business...BUT by BlueBadger 13 Apr 2021 20:07I feel for the poor b*gger, there's literally nothing he can do to effect change at the moment apart from shuffling the pack, drilling in training and hoping that something sticks.He's fighting an uphill battle against a complacent and incompetent club culture that's been allowed to fester for far, far too long.
I'm not going to use the words 'free' and 'hit'.
This season is a failure and he's been unable to arrest that and that's ultimately on him, but he's considerably less culpable for that than Marcus Evans, Paul Hurst and Paul Lambert are.

You've got to give a manager a transfer window. He's been disappointing so far but he inherited a mess of a situation here really. A bloated, unfit, unbalanced squad where half of them won't be here next season. Damage done from sticking with a disliked and disinterested manager for at least a year too long. An owner whose focus was on completing the sale of the club.
Don't get me wrong, I expected a lot more and he hasn't been good enough, but I don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. Let him have a summer to shape the squad, have a full preseason, and then let's see what happens. |  |

I don't know if it's possible to judge his management skill from what we're seeing on pitch, only his character from what he say about it. I like his character.
There's a culture of accepting defeat at ITFC. The players who keep losing and lacking any fight... they are all still here! I don't think they're (all) taking the piss but you don't need to be a psychiatrist here.
The spectre of MEG will hang over ITFC for at least this season. We will see what happens in the summer. I suspect and hope the changes will be cataclysmic. |  |

I really think this squad is so mentally poisoned that these performances and results at the end of this season are pretty much inevitable under any manager. Just hope that Cook himself is robust enough not be contaminated, so that he can truly start afresh for us over the summer. Has there ever been a worse situation at any club, with a seemingly inescapable negative momentum? |  |

I absolutely expected us to push on with his appointment but the performances have been awful. He's absolutely the right man to take us forward next season as long as we get rid of most of this horrific squad. Cook will quite rightly get the summer. What this run is doing is reducing the opportunity for him to have a dodgy start in August - any signs of the same old form and tensions will be raised straight away. | |

Obviously not calling for his head or anything ridiculous, but I am disappointed in how we've not improved in the slightest.

The biggest issue is not that we haven’t improved but, Northampton aside, we’ve actually gone backwards compared to the performances under Lambert. | |
