I'm not sure I'd go with Simpson, he's not done very well at U23 level this season. Norwood puts himself about. All those kids will need someone like him to hold play up. He's certainly got the nouse to do it.
If we had to go with a kid up top, If only Morris wasn't still injured. He'd go in place of Simpson for me. | |

I particularly love the lineup above that's swapping out one (long-term contracted) youth academy product who gets dogs abuse every week for another, younger (out-of-contract and possibly not signing a new one) youth academy product who looked wildly out of his depth in his one league start this season. Playing an U23 team could lead to a severe thumping, which might dent the confidence of the young players. Town could also fall foul of the "must field their strongest side" rule.
However, the play-off ship has sailed. Realistically Town need 5 wins from the last 6 games & as we're averaging a point a game under Cook, that isn't going to happen.
What I would do is leave out all the loan players (Cook hasn't been playing many of them anyway) & also exclude all the out of contract players whom Cook doesn't want here next season. A mix of youth & experienced players who will be here next season makes more sense to me. |  |

It probably should do if we have any ambition to get out of this league.
I do know what you mean though, losing 5 or 6 wouldn't be good.
