...he has to deal with nothing more than some headers, a few blocks, and average physicality.
He can't deal with anyone running at him and he lacks any anticipation.
His positional sense is terrible, decision making poor and he lacks concentration.
Most of his "highlights" come from him recovering his own mistakes. |
He has shown improvement in his performances this season but the big issue is that he always has performances like that in him.
Could you trust someone like that in a play off game? Or in a game where you need three points for automatic promotion? I don't think so.
I think Woolfenden will be on borrowed time too. He has been poor this season and I know he was playing out of position yesterday but I thought his one on one defending was terrible. I'm not allowed to criticise him though as he is 'one of our own |  | | |

...since he came back into the team.
Some of that may be down to the slightly different role he is being asked to play, but you are correct, he really hasn't been good.
Nsiala has indeed improved, but then when the starting point is numerous miss kicks in your own 6 yard box and giving away a penalty every time you make a tackle in the box, it's not difficult.

You really do have a tilted view. Chambers has obvious weaknesses that the opposition have exploited whether he has played at full back or Centre back. He is vulnerable every time that an opponent runs at him. Whether we have three defenders better than him is open to question.
Will you recognize that the only player that carried a threat to Wimbledon last night was Edwards? |
Edwards was decent for 5-10 minutes in the 2nd half.
In the first half......in the period that actually mattered......Edwards performance was so poor it was like playing with 9/10* men.

Correct, he has weakened year after year and teams know how to play him,
