Exclusive: #itfc midfielder Alan Judge could have potentially played his final game for the club.
He is understood to have a clause in his contract meaning one more game triggers an extra year and is not being considered for selection at this stage.https://t.co/Zgg1zjs8jL
That makes sense. Unless Judge is confident that he can get a good contract somewhere else, I wonder if he could agree to cancel that clause so that he can play for the potential to be offered something here or elsewhere. Put himself in the shop window as it were.

You wouldn't be able to without cancelling the contract would you?

I'm pretty sure contracts can always be amended if both parties are agreeable, and something like that could be in both parties interests.

Why wouldn’t a player involve their agent? It’s their job
It's just such a simple transaction, it's sad that a player wouldn't be able to deal with that themselves. A new contract... get your agent involved. Waiving a clause in order to play a few matches.... Have some self respect and get on with it yourself.

KDB managed to agree a new deal without an agent.
It is a contractual change and would need a legal document attached to the contract. It would be usual for someone to have legal advice for that, especially where you are talking large salaries and possibly unforeseen consequences.

Yep, that's what a solicitor is for. Agents aren't the for legal advice.
To be fair, it was more to do with your suggestion that the change was worthy of a fee.

So we've officially given up on promotion then. Sensible decision.
It does seem odd to leave out the player who has made all the difference in winning so many points on our way to storming the play-offs when the only consequence is being saddled with a high cost contract for another year on him.
[sarcasm in case it isn't obvious] Anyone who honestly thinks we are going to make the play-offs let alone win them is hopelessly deluded. Indeed, the best chance might be to stick in hungry youngsters and tell them to prove themselves worthy of Championship football.

I was quiet concerned when I read your first sentence
