It's Friday so I've started drinking early not that I need any excuse. I'm starting with a whiskey drink, then a vodka, followed by a lager and lastly a cider. I'll be listening to songs that remind me of the good times and then songs that remind me of the better times.
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

No offence OldSmoker but your beverage intake is back to front.
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.
Last live band I saw was at the local pub on Friday 13th December 2019. Singer with acoustic guitar + electric fiddle + drums n bass playing folk/rock but not very well. Desperate for live music again.

Blimey you can say that again, it's crazy even for a nutter like me to have taken all that freedom and enjoyment so much for granted, i mean if there was somebody playing anywhere and i fancied it i would just pack a bag and go and the crepe thing is i'm like everybody else are getting older by the minute, it really is vucking my head up now.
Roll on better times for all of us.
I'm off to build for a while, enjoyed tonight so far.

Were they taking the p!ss or did they just get a bit carried away with having studio time and resources? I have never heard that version before, only know their transcription from the breathy live version on 'Elegy' (which I bought on release as an impressionable sixteen year old, possibly because I had heard an opinionated workman holding up a copy of the Five Bridges Suite and declare it as a good album except for the bits were the band went a bit mad, I thought that my limited funds would be better served by the sort of greatest hits album.) The 'Elegy' version is much truer to, and evocative of, the spirit of the song.
So who better to give a defining rendition of a Tim Hardin song:
