Just been thinking... 12:51 - Apr 20 with 389 views | Kropotkin123 | Can the government nationalise the six breakaway clubs? Nationalising companies has occurred before when they have created monopolies. Is this different? If so, please explain why

I imagine it would contravene FIFA's current rules (although I'm sure given the situation, they'd be flexible!) and nationalisations tend to go down badly with finance capitalists, so there might be knock on effects elsewhere in the economy.

I'd be surprised if other industries felt threatened by nationalisation, given the unique circumstances. My thinking was the same as your first paragraph. I think I favour this over banishing the club's, due to the fact that the vast majority of their own fans see it as an attack on them and their community too. Nationalisation would just hit those responsible hard.
