I suspect the current one has the worst record of the lot. Quite an achievement to actually do worse than Lambert with the same set of players.

He obviously needs time, but I think he's still got it all to prove.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Well if Cook can't turn it around in a year or so I don't see the new administration hanging on long.

Remarkably, Jewell is coming out of this competition very well.

Don't play Woolfenden and McGuinness at centre back together. It's not rocket science yet every Paul we've had make it look far more difficult than it should be.

It is a contest that keeps on giving. With every new one you think they can't get worse but they find new levels. Imagine how bad the next one will be

Paul Whitehouse?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Are there any Pauls left? I thought we had used them all.

Paul Pogba if he doesn't want to play in the ESL and is bored of getting paid squillions each week.

Well quite. If they were both ours, I'd understand looking at the pairing. But presumably Mcguiness will be off at the end of the season. I' be surprised if we were in for him on permanent (although this does seem to be his level, at best).

So far all of Cook's tinkering smacks of desperation. He has no idea who to play and how. That's a bit of a worrying early sign that for me. But I'm trying not to read too much into all of this - we're obviously terminally damaged and in need of a proper regroup and quite a few fresh faces.

Jewell will be expecting a call from Lancaster Gate when Southgate goes if this is anything to go by.

I know he's not a Paul, but Alan Knill would be an appropriate manager at present.
