Political correctness gone mad. What's the world coming to when a teacher can't take his pupils to a strip club, get on the piss with them, threaten them, and then expose themselves to a colleague? Never like this in my day.

When I was 15 I went on a school skiing trip to Switzerland.

Our games teacher tock a few of us "older" pupils on a pub crawl. During the evening he passed me a pewter tankard to hide up my jumper so he could have a souvenir. We then all ended up in a small nightclub where I can remember to this day the DJ playing Contact by Edwin Starr.

At the airport on the way over I bought a copy of Mayfair or some such porn mag and a bottle of scotch at the duty free. No ID required. The teacher let me keep the scotch but took the porn mag off me.

A week after we got home there was a presentation ceremony in assembly. All of a sudden my name was called. I wasn't aware that I was expecting any recognition for sporting or educational achievement.

When I got the to stage I was presented with my copy of my porn mag to great applause. This was 1979.

From your various stories, that sounds like day 1 of a typical business trip.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

It wasn't just the strip club was it, he seems to have been an aggressive dick:

- Threatening to "kick the head in" of one pupil and "kill" another
- Telling one pupil: "I'm not in trouble - you'll be in trouble"
- After being aggressive to one pupil, he kissed the boy's forehead and told him "you're all right"

A fine day out footers.
We did get a week in Konigswinter as part of O level German language, not much learning took place though.
Had a trip up North of the border to Stirling, not much geography learned either apart from some fumblings in the girls dormitory after lights out.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Furthest I got was Wales at the end of the 4th year.

Mr Tansley Thomas took us along with Sooty Hart, I was saddened to hear a few years later that Mr Tansley Thomas got done for gross indecency.

He was indeed.
The girls in our year all swooned over him too. Nigel wasn't it? or is my muddled memory playing tricks on me.

I've just recalled him giving me an almighty swipe round the lug hole during a geography lesson for some misdeneanor or other. Ears were ringing for ages.

One of my school trip highpoints was a day trip to sizewell B. Think it was possibly one of those, if you work really hard you could get to work here trips. Though not sure as I wasn't really listening

Nigel rings a bell.

I really liked him. Half way through the 5th year I had basically given up on school and regrettably was a bit disruptive in class. We actually seemed to get on well and he just pulled me aside and said, look, the geography lessons we have are the last lessons of the day so just go home after the previous lesson and I won't say a thing, it's no good for either of us.

The problem was that in order to leave the school premises I had to go past Chirpy Challoner's class and he would delight in capturing me and sending me to She Devil Batchelor.

Gressenhall museum for us because we had to learn about the industrial revolution every bloody year.

French exchange was good though, there is French lass called Vanessa who won't forget disco night in a hurry.

Much richer pickings at 6th form thanks to taking Classics A level.

Italy one year, Greece the next..supposed to be educational which it was as we educated ourselves on just how much booze our youngselves could handle.

Side note, i came 3rd in a colouring completion for Banham Zoo when I was about 7.... free family pass for a year was my reward. Not bad for a lad who couldn't say in the lines.

Fortunately, i left before i had the misfortune of Batchelor. I knew her quite well after she retired though and she was quite a laugh. She also had a thing going on with big bad Brian.

I think Brian was the deputy head?? What was his surname?

Batchelor's son was in my year, in fact he was our goalkeeper in our team and was quite good.

He used to get the sh1t kicked out of him though because of his mum.

Oh, I wouldn't have remembered that name.

I only vaguely remembered him as he was more your side of the school (riff raff side)

Did your lot have Buddha Ram? He was the one teacher I genuinely hated. My dad never in his life went to parents evening but he did send a message to Buddha once in no uncertain terms - via me
