What would be the point? The Chairman and CEO's will be sacked by the owners, who are the ones who signed them up to the ESL in the first place.

Its like taking the king to be beheaded, and settling for his servant instead.

I suspect some of them are annoyed they weren't invited.

Whilst they have presumably been doing so in behest of the owners, the CEOs are the ones who have been sat in PL meetings and on the side say on ESL meetings where they are doing the opposite and potentially stealing IP etc from the other side.

Their positions as decision makers in the PL are untenable, even if they were just representing their bosses

Exactly this.
The PL had been acting as a big bully for over twenty years. Those clubs are just annoyed that a bigger bully rolled into school and stole their sweeties.

Granted I guess the grey area they'll defend is the mutiny didn't go ahead, but nor did Bury Town's administration had they been given a week extension.

Football is one rule for us and one rule of them anyway. Particularly when the rich/powerful clubs have more sway (B teams and EFL is the most recent example). It's a metaphor for society really...

They're all happy to be invited to play Soggy Biscuit until they realise they are the biscuit.

Yeah.
Personally I don’t understand all of the hysteria which broke out. Those six clubs are simply following the financial and business logic that has dominated since the formation of the PL.

I would have let them go and organised the clubs into two leagues of twenty, one of twenty-two and one of twenty-four.

The top six in the PL have a mini knockout tournament to determine the final placings.

The bottom four will be automatically relegated and the teams finishing fifth and sixth from bottom play the teams finishing fifth and sixth from top in the championship. The winners of both matches either stay up or go down.

Excitement too the end.

glad that it didn't go through. i think sky are 2 faced by in this as well. they started the ball rolling by pumping millions into the league which then lead to the premier league. which then led to it not being a level playing field. they were scared it would to lead to pay per view in the far east ,thus cutting them out of the gravy train.
on another point the fans played a bit part of this being kicked out. mind some posters on here, didn't think the fans voice would play not part in this being kicked out.

I'd have let them dig their own grave too to be fair, it would be doomed from day one. Then I'd have let them back into the English pyramid from the bottom. And whilst they're all gone we'd introduce enough ACTUAL fair play rules to ensure a "big X" gatekeeper group never appears again.

Right on the first point too, watching FIFA, the FA and UEFA talk about greed as if they are a shining beacon of socialism and a level playing field was hilarious.

On the plus, I hope fans realise collectively that the football business answers to us if we vote with our wallets or make enough noise.

People keep saying what they would do and most of the time it's a non starter. Do you really think if they wanted to come back they'd be made to start in any league other than the Prem? They'd be voted back into the Prem immediately for commercial reasons.

You can say it wouldn't happen or we'd have some sort of legal safeguard but it would be overruled if they really wanted to come back. The tv rights for the first few seasons of their return would be off the scale. It would happen, 100%.

Truly impaired.
