if he carries on and develops, he looks a top prospect. brave on the ball ,makes forward runs and certainly can tackle.

Hopefully. Looks a good player. Along with the LB and Baggott who was immense. The RB looked decent as well. Hopefully see a few in and around the squad in couple of years time. Any chance with the additional money we may push towards Cat 1?

I'm not surprised Butcher likes him, very classy, with a good left foot, he's got a chance to be a good player

what i liked was we could cross a ball and the way the lads pointed to where they wanted ball played to. not like some in the first team who just wave theirs about like a demented copper on point duty.

We are a million miles away from being a proper professional football club in many areas. Surely most of them are getting changed, aren't they? The thing I like most about the new owners is that they appear to recognise the importance of getting things right off the pitch.

I got the impression that it would get sorted. There is Premier League interest in him but I think he'll end up signing at the end of the season. Bit of a concern he hasn't got an year's option.

I don't understand why he signed a pro deal which only went unto end of his scholarship as it was anyway....

Perhaps rewarding him for his progress. Would there have been a limit to how long he could have signed for at the time?

Possibly it was 2 years rhen, but you’d think an easy way round it like a signing bonus and contract kicking in at end of season so it could get to end of next season. Seems a strangely handled situation, there’s lots of interest in a number of youths at the moment - will be interested to see how things play out

One would hope that with Ashtons record of buying low selling high wed being pulling all the stops out to get any promising youths signed up ASAP. This is where the money will be made for a few years.

Indeed if anything it shows exactly how technically poor our 1st team is. For those who continue to maintain our squad is one of the better in the league i think watching some of these U18s in the cup games reiterates actually how poor the 1st XI squad is from a technical perspective. These U18s are still boys and wouldn't last 5 minutes in mens football at the moment but technically some of them look far superior to our first teamers.
