Or not south of Madrid anyway...

"Based on its current orbit the rocket is passing over Earth as far north as New York, Madrid and Beijing and as far south as southern Chile and Wellington, New Zealand, and could make its re-entry at any point within this area."

It's utterly rubbish from China as well. There are agreements about what can be left for uncontrolled re-entry and this is the second time their rocket has breached those limits (and by a long way).

The US and Russia used to make sure their non-reusable rockets fell into the ocean. SpaceX really are miles ahead of the governments with their landing and reusable rockets, I am sure China are doing their best to get their hands on the plans as is their usual way.

“You may not feel outstandingly robust, but if you are an average-sized adult you will contain within your modest frame no less than 7 X 10^18 joules of potential energy—enough to explode with the force of thirty very large hydrogen bombs, assuming you knew how to liberate it and really wished to make a point."

IMost of the countries it could land in have been "bought" by China building them stadiums, infrastructure etc anyhow, so we shall never hear a word.
