But he would have reached 29 a couple of games ago so why until today and why not therefore wait until after Sunday

Yes, one more game would trigger an extension, which clearly Cook doesn't want. Think we could have told some of the players earlier to help them find new clubs but maybe some of them have been told privately. If I was Gwion Edwards, I wouldn't be going flying into challenges given that he's going to without a club soon & is only 28 so should attract reasonable offers.

So far we have Judge and Ward out, basically early because of Evans silly contracts. Huws has been rumored to have been gone for at least a month now. Ward and Judge are frustrating examples of Lambert signings. On paper they should deliver in League One. In patches they were alright but where was the rest of it? Judge has had some home issues which is fair enough, it's our fault we didn't sell when we could knowing what was going on in the background but Ward? Ward has been a class pro his entire career and normally the type of player you'd expect to do really well here. Funnily enough Judge could have been a difference maker in a few of these games but that silly Evans contract has kept him out. He has in patches been very good for us this season.

I don't think that Gwion Edwards has flown into a challenge in about two years except for the one that he should have been sent off for a few games ago.

in fairness to ward, did he ever do much wrong? hadn't the body to do the things kenlock and KVY do, but overall he solid enough.

Ward started the season well, came back from injury too soon and then got covid. It's perhaps not surprising that his impact has been so limited. He was playing fairly well in his last few matches though, nowhere near enough to be worth keeping but clearly he was properly fit again,.

Yeah you are probably right, on reflection. I forgot he had COVID. I just think in 2019 on paper if you were to put together a dream League One team and could grab ahold of a couple of decent players with some experience and professionalism in your side like Judge and Ward, you'd have had them here. Just sad as ever it never works out for us.

you don't see many 34/5 year olds bombing up and down the wings these days unless they are told to hold their position. He's been a fine player, and i can see why he was brought in for his experience but on the filed he wasn't suited to what we needed and what Cook now wants.

You think Evans chose that clause and only Evans agrees to or adds that clause?

Huws was told a while back he wouldn't play again, so he knows his future lies elsewhere. I think he's maybe still around the place to get fit.

I don't think anyone (maybe PL?) expected us to have Chambers as the other full back, the two of them were good in an attacking team until the team wasn't. It really was notable that SW was fit again, at Peterborough he looked like he was running in slow motion. Judge I still think did ok overall, just that, as you suggest, he was brought in to have a much greater impact and only did that in the first few weeks back in Spring 2019.

It was probably because I reported it yesterday. I asked about it and was told to ask the manager after the game and he would comment but he obviously didn't do press and it wasn't fair to ask Kieron about it.
