Derby takeover going well then 09:36 - May 6 with 2175 viewsElderGrizzly

Prospective owner trying to use the ground to raise/secure money to buy the club. Wages were only paid in April because Mel Morris used his own money to pay them.

It's a Daily Mail article, but makes amusing reading

Think Derby fans are more concerned about the real risk of relegation. They have actually scored 10 goals less than Town, and conceded 10 more.

Jeeez, thats scary.

Clearly doesnt have anything like the funds needed to take Derby forward. Blagger.

Just goes to show how lucky we are in the calibre of ownership and some Kudos to Marcus for not just selling to any Tom, Dick or Harry like Mel Morris has.

And to think some fans think Rotherham would be an easier game! Get this circus down in League One!

Indeed. Think ME's due diligence on owners is often over looked.

This bloke looks to be a right tool. There’s been a smell of entitlement for some years around Derby, soon to be replaced by the whiff of administration at this rate. Not good. This dalliance with big name footballers as manager seemed all a bit short term and odd to me too.

I think the reality was;

Rooney is earning £60k per week and is finished as a player.

Derby cant afford to increase the wage bill for a new manager.

...this results in Rooney becoming manager.

Problem is Rotherham's form. Got to go to Cardiff and win. They've thrown away their "advantage" having only won one in their last ten. As Ben said on Naked Footie last night, if nothing else, Rotherham know how to get out of L1.

With any luck, with Cardiff having nothing to play for Mick will do the Welshe equivalent of playing Skuse and Douglas in midfield and Rotherham wil get something.

Even more reason to get Waghorn to lead the line for us next season then. Oh wait...

I have flashbacks to us playing a scratch team against them in Mick’s last full season(?) in charge when we were safe.

But as long as Sheff W wins against Derby, Rotherhams results will bear no meaning to Derbys survival

Easier said than done though, granted they are the better side but it's an intensely high pressured match.
