That looks great!

Might get one for something to mess about with.

Seems rather pricey for a home-brew setup. You can pick up the equipment to make a 40 pint kit for a good deal less (even Wilko do fermenting bins).

But it is quite easy to make lots of decent beer with little effort.

Might come in handy for a Homecoming or indeed a Birthday Party.

I remain somewhat unconvinced that it's more sustainable to manufacture a little plastic machine for every household, and get beers delivered in separate trips, rather than adding some fully recyclable aluminium cans to my weekly shop, which seems to be one of its lead messages, but hey ho.

That said, a friend of mine has one (he's the sort to buy literally every gadget in the world) and does speak highly of it, and the beers.

I think that's a bit different though.

This is clearly a smallish system for personal use which makes 10 pints every week or so and fits in the fridge.

I wouldn't want a 40 point kit or a large fermenting bin.

One of my mates has one and says its really good and easy to work - have ordered one with the co pinter - decent price and then the pack which makes 10 pints is £14 or so going forwards.

Agree re environmental impact, not really one of my considerations in this

Lovely job, have heard good things but they were sold out for ages.

EDIT - it still is out of stock!

Fair point, if you get all the gubbins in can take up a bit of space.

You can brew beer in almost anything made from food-quality material. I've made cider in a cardboard fruit-juice carton before, with bread yeast (turned out rather fizzy). The trick is not to let light get to it - is the enemy of yeast - and make sure everything is clean and sterilised.

I did look at them, looked decent but thought tis was a bit more fun - plus the ongoing costs a bit better

One for the Road, perhaps?

Norwood certainly doesn't mind one.

Looks like it's worth getting a second keg for 35 quid so you can brew one and have one on the go. A constant supply of nice fresh beer sounds excellent.

105 quid for two kegs and 20 pints is very reasonable.

Yep, went for 2 kegs, 2 packs of beer, 2 glasses and delivery at £135.

Will likely join the monthly brewing club at £12 a month too once I've used up the first lot

They're good, but you have to allow for plenty of pauses when using them...
